protip: cream+water is better than milk

how much would you dilute the cream? did you need to whisk the fat in?
my friend joked about using diluted heavy cream last night when he had no milk to drink and I wondered if it could be legit actually.

i use single cream so there is no need for whisking. i imagine you would need to if you used heavy cream though (it's basically pre-whipped double cream, isn't it?)

Oh I guess you're british. I've never been able to figure out the specifics of single/double over there but I would guess the US heavy cream is single cream based on when I see double cream on cooking shows, I see like a fat layer on top and heavy cream definitely doesn't have that.
basically heavy cream is all liquid, but it's the only one we've got that you can whip and it turns into whipped cream and not butter.
This is probably the worst advice I've seen on here, and I browsed /b/ ten years ago.

>heavy cream is all liquid
oh ok, then you shouldn't have any need to whip it
as for dilution, just add water as necessary

do you want to expand on that?
