For a grandma's day. Work of my sis, what do you think ,anons?
What kind of cake is that?
I prefer mine medium rare. Good marbling though.

The colors are pretty, was it only dye or was there some deliciousness associated with some colorful berries?
Looks very mediocre. I'm sure she will love it.

Raspberry juice as far as I know.
is she underaged?
it seems a bit too bright.
i would've just decorated it with a few candied petals or slices of berries

Looks okay OP. Some tips:
1. I noticed some crumbs into the icing layers. If you chill your layers in the fridge for at least an hour before spreading your fillings/icing the cake won't nearly as bad and be MUCH easier to handle.
2. Applying a light brushing of simple syrup (equal ratio of sugar and hot water dissolved together) across the surface of the layers before icing to help seal in moisture and keep the cake from drying out (the icing itself also helps do the same function).

Also to get perfectly flat baked layers without that domed shape, or having to resort to leveling them with a knife you can make a foil cake strap to help insulate and even out the heat distribution:

You can also buy elastic premade ones that slip over standard round cake pans:

Of course if you go to that expense, I'd just get better even-heating baking rounds in the first place so you get a flat layer the first time, each time:

Did she also make her own frosting?
