Is it better to get a Mechanical or Electric kitchen scale? I've only used the electric kind but I'd like to hear your experiences

I use mechanical works good and doesn't require batteries

You can't take 30 seconds every four years to replace a battery?

I prefer the ease of tareing on electrical scales.

Electronic scales let you tare out your plate or bowl without doing any mental math. It also might take away some of the guess work, when you can tare over and over as you add ingredients, if you do that. You're not eyeballing a guage, just reading numbers.
>>
Electronic scales have much higher precision capacities and TARE. I don't see how a mechanical scale can do either of those at least as good and they're basically the same in every other respect so
>>
I have that same electric one as in the picture, but in black, and it's fine, but I wish I had paid a little more for one.

I keep having an issue with small amounts where it will just stay at zero the whole time, and then when I remove the weight, suddenly it will give me negative numbers. It will eventually work but it's annoying having to constantly double-check everything to make sure it isn't fucking around.
