How can I cook a nice ribeye steak indoors without too much smoke?
Last time I cooked it on the stove in a cast iron pan and while the steak was delicious, my apartment was filled with a massive amount of smoke.

Cook it in the oven. Finish it in the pan.

Does it produce much smoke while cooking in the oven? I was considering broiling it in my cast iron pan, but I fear that will be very smoky too.

then get a pan very hot, use peanut oil to get a high smoke point
finish in the pan
