Hello /ck/
Could anybody help me identify this spice?
I didn't buy it myself, but I know that it was bought on a market either in Antalya or Istanbul in Turkey.
It's really hot, and I mean extremely hot. Hottest thing I've ever tasted, but doesn't have any weird side effects so it's defnitely a legit spice. Doesn't ruin the taste of the dish either, on its own it tastes a bit "smokey", but the hotness immediately overwhelmes you.
It's dark red/orange, looks almost black in the little jar I got it in, it's somewhat oily but less so than vegetable oil.
Is anyone familiar with a turkish spice like this one?
