Papazian's, "The Complete Joy of Homebrewing," has a good intro to brewing mead. It's primarily a beer brewing book, but it's very similar to extract brewing and he has a section that can get you brewing mead quickly.
But if you're going to buy that, you should probably just get a good book on mead making. There's too much info required to convey to someone to effectively do it here. Do some reading and ask specific questions. Some of us could help then.
If you want a good, edible mead in a quick span, I would recommend you look up BOMM -- Bray's One Month Mead. This dude managed to get a fermentation process down to as little in 30 days, and he has a bunch of different recipes that work as well. He also lists his ingredients, and gives step by step instructions as well.
Also check out homebrewtalk. It's an online forum that has a lot of help from users. There's a pinned thread just for mead
