Is a wrap a sandwich?
I'd say it's more of a burrito in terms of form factor, but based on filling alone i'd have to say it's a sandwhich, due to the similar filling and wheat/flour-based casing.

no, because in order for something to be a sandwich, the bread has to be some kind of leavened bread.
therefore, wraps don't count.
is a hotdog a sandwich, though?

A hotdog is not a sandwich, because the casing is horizontal and combined with a seam rather than being encased vertically with no seams.

Subs are sandwiches retard.

Subs are a special classification of a sandwich, calling it a submarine sandwich, retard.

non-us guy here..
Always wondering where the name 'sub' (subway) came from to designate a sandwich ... It's from 'submarine sandwich ' ! !??!
It's a popular term or a marketing gag?

>in order for something to be a sandwich, the bread has to be some kind of leavened bread.
actually, the definition of a sandwich is simply two or more slices of any kind of bread with a filling
so hotdogs, wraps/kebabs aren't sandwiches
but a sub sandwich is a sandwich because the bread is split down the center, however a meatball sub isn't a sandwich because it isn't split so that the sauce doesn't drip everywhere

it started as a marketing gag, the bun looked like a submarine hence sub sandwich
>everything is a sandwich

hotdog sandwich.

I've never had a sub where the bread is cut into two. It is always like a large hotdog bun. Always. They never fully cut it.

>What is an open faced SANDWICH?
Retard.

Why does a wrap have to be wrapped in a wheat/flour casing?

I was literally going off the dictionary definition
I personally feel it should be anything that is bread and filling
but that would mean that pizza and burritos would be sandwiches
