I've heard good things about it.

Have gone through a thing of Ardbeg 10 yr(I like it a lot), johnnie walker (is breddy bad), Leapfrog aka Laphroaig 10 yr (I like it, but is more for special occasions), Macallan 12 yr (sherry flavours too strong for me, looking to try an older one), just bought Glenlivet 12 yr, recommended by a friend, Bowmore (ok taste, been a while since I tried it), and the often memed Suntory Hibiki (really good, but not $80 a fifth good) which was my first whisky. Guess I'm looking for recommendations?

Caol Isla. In the style of Ardbeg and Laphroaig (all of them peaty Islay ("ayy-lee") wisky) but a tad dirtier.

Not a huge scotch drinker but I had a bit of a scotch phase and I remember that one being pretty good OP. Nobody will make fun of you for it (though it's actually pretty pricey when not on sale)
