Anybody here a barista or know how to go about becoming one at a place other than Starbucks?
Are the SCAA courses legit?

Wait. You can PAY to become a professional coffee monkey? Like it's some kind of real profession and not something broke college kids and middle aged women with no other options have to do?

It's a course you take at one of their "campuses" or online to become "certified" and it costs about 95 bucks for "members" for a three hour course.
Actually, the more I read about it the more it sounds like a scam.

Of course.

Yep
It's a thing;

I believe round turtle shell spectacles, a beard, suspenders, short back and sides hair cut and at least one tattoo sleave are the course prerequisite.
my cousin did it. she said avoid it like the plague, if you want t be a coffee monkey, just swallow your pride and work at dunkin' donuts.

Only my path was working up to McCafe. Only cucks buy training courses, and yet no one hires the people with the course in their resume. Pretty good scam if you ask me, I'm seriously considering being a barista course leader myself.
