Delightful. I make them for St. Patrick's Day every year, but really it's a great meal all year.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure it's traditionally Polish, but is associated with Irish because >cabbage.

Pretty much every Eastern European culture has a Cabbage Roll, what we know as Cabbage Rolls came out of German/Polish neighborhoods in the Midwest in the 30's. They became associated with Irish culture due to A:Cabbage, and B: often sharing neighborhoods and thus adopting traditional foods of their German/Polish neighbors.

What is the secret to the sauce of a good cabbage roll? I know it isn't Italian at all, so what is it?
