So what does /ck/ think of MSG?
[spoiler]I'm gonna try using some tonight

It's pretty much just salt, but tastier.
The only reason I don't use it is that it's kinda like cheating; but there's absolutely nothing wrong with it
If you have arthritis it will kill you.

I use it in everything, especially chili and Southern fried wings.
I don't care if it's cheating, food tastes better with it, it's as simple as that.

I love it, triggers normies and /ck/ pseudo-shefs.

I have a restaurant and get a lot of customers that inquire about our use of MSG and make a big fucking deal about it. We try to limit the amount of products that include it. Personally I don't see the big deal, it's salt. Gluten is the new MSG

So it is literally magic? Good to know, was wondering what I am in for.
Does it have much flavor itself or does it just affect other flavors? It is purely for savory stuff, does it affect any other flavors?

God I hate people who flip out over that shit. My mother acts that way with high fructose corn syrup, it's fine and all to lower the sugar intake but it's not gonna kill ya if it's in your damn ketchup.

I work at a chinese restaurant and this lady ordered all her food with "no msg." I have no idea if they actually use the shit in the kitchen but I didn't write it down because I'm not usually supposed to be taking orders and don't give a shit.

It's more like salt, in that it doesn't have it's own real flavor but rather brings out the flavors of the foods you put it on
