I've dabbled with making something that was kind of like ramen.

I made egg soup (which I guess is more chinese than japanese if you really want to be specific), then added some more onions, parsely, leftover pork roast, and some soup noodles.

I like soup, and I like noodles. It worked out pretty well, to be honest. I plan on making more the next time I have leftover roast meat.

soy sauce keeps b-s-chicken breast from drying out if you're too lazy to figure out the exact temperature and timing for your oven.

Why'd you post a picture of jelly donuts?

I make Japanese curry from time to time because it's easy as fuck and my roommate isn't a fan of coconut milk or spicier curries. Just wastes an extra pan for making the roux. Other than that, no.

Well, on occasion I'll fry leftover rice and plop an omelette on it, but more often than not I'll just scramble that egg into the rice. Just depends on whether or not I feel like having that creamier egg on top or not.

I've never felt any urge to explore Japanese cooking. Miso might be cool, but how do you even know if you got it right? If I'm going to do Asian cooking I'd rather try Chinese cooking.

I make Onigiri every other week or so. Takes 15 mins of actual work and is super filling. I usually stuff them with some shredded seasoned/sauced chicken.

Yeah. I lived in Japan for about six years while Dad was posted there in the military. Learned how to cook Japanese from my neighbor while we were there.

Japanese is more like home-cooking for me than Southern food is, and my family is from South Carolina.

Been making a lot of TAKORAISU lately.

I've always wanted to have one or two of those rice balls. It seems like a much less crumbly way to get starch than eating rice with a fork. Soy sauce would probably go well with it, too.

And any excuse to eat seaweed is one I'll happily take.
