Is it worth it? I was considering buying it for myself for my birthday next week.

Dom PĂ©rignon Brut Vintage Champagne 2005
$220
>>
>>7122409

It was bought out by Moet a few decades ago, since...it's become the same pleb tier swill and not worth the money.

Crystal is also garbage water overhyped by swaggy rappers.

Veuve Cliquot Demi-sec is drinking well right now, as is Perrier Jouet, Krug and Iron Horse brut (California, USA).

Don't buy into the hype, get some well made sparkling wine instead of getting ground up in the rumor mill ot mediocrity.
>>
>>7122409
Get a bottle of Bulleit Rye and spend the rest on the horses
>>
>drinking rapper champagne
>in the present year
Do you drink much champagne?
Yes: Then you should know better
No: Then it's wasted on you anyway
Grower champagne is cheaper, better, and more ethnically acceptable
>>
Dom Perignon is very nice champagne. Its very expensive. If you want to impress a girl im sure you will. Moet is a much cheaper option and can still have the desired effect to impress people but i dont think it tastes very nice. I would suggest you buy a bottle of veuve clicquot champagne. It is cheaper than Dom Perignon but is very nice!
>>
>>7122409

Spend a quarter of that on a prosecco of equal quality. They're not nearly as overpriced as champagne is in the states, especially Dom, which mostly gets by on it's name
>>
>>7122634
See
>>7122423

Owned by the same company, made by the same grapes in the same facility and uses machines to rittle the bottles.

There is no love in the production of that product. Impressing others shouldn't be the reason anyone buys anything. It should be for personal benefit and growth.
>>
>>7122409
Don't be a nigger, go for Krug.
>>
>>7122656
>prosecco
Icky.

I don't understand why that stuff is so popular when there's cremant d'alsace, sekt, and even pretty good bubbly from the USA.
>>
>>7122665
Shut up you curmudgeon, sometimes things are done in fun. Deal with it.

Not everything "expensive" is about impressing, sometimes they're not made in Moscow or China cabbage roll bullshit and it costs more to make quality products.

You seem like the type that would be happy on soylent green.
>>
>>7122749
Whoa there, calm down buddy. Objectively speaking he is right and you are wrong. If you want something where the cost went into production rather than paying the entire GDP of New Zealand to WPP Group to work hard and convince plebs that it's The Best(tm), go into the grower champagnes as has been suggested already.
>>
>>7122409
$20 bottle of rum
$200 escort
>>
>>7122753
Have you ever considered that "Objectively" [your words] speaking that you're a fucking cunt and nobody gives a shit what you have to say?
>>
N O P E

No Champagne is worth that much unless it's from the early 90s or 80s, and in that case they become much more expensive than that.

If you want something nice, get some Mumm or some higher-end Veuve Clicquot, or even spend $50-100 on a relatively recent Mondavi champagne offering.

Dom P and Cristal are super-premium offerings that stand on name alone, they're honestly not that great or interesting. Almost all champagnes are very, very similar in taste, the only thing that changes is quality of ingredients and the cost of storage/bottling.

While i'm at it, avoid DeLeon tequila for the same reason, it's not expensive to make, just expensive to market.
>>
>>7122749

>in fun
>to impress other people

Pick one.
>>
>>7122842
>mondavi
I'm sorry I know they make some stuff that's good but...
bahahahahahahahaha he said mondavi

So you're happy paying $150 minimum for a bottle of Moet & Chandon Brut, by all means... be a retard to "pop bottles nigga" it's not my life you're living.
>>
>>7122749

>enjoys soylent green

No, I am the first poster in this thread, I enjoy the things I posted that are within the same price range and drinking well this year. Meaning... they "taste good nigga".

Sorry it's not Barefoot Moscato.

haha i know it's the exact opposite of trying to impress someone but their bubbly honestly isn't bad senpai

also someone up there mentioned Iron Horse, that's another solid brand while i'm thinking about it

Or you can get nutty and buy some prosecco, that shit's dope too and significantly cheaper than wallet-bait champagne
>>
>>7122850
No, but I'd be happy paying for some Krug. I'm not a nigger and therefore I have taste. What's your major malfunction?
>>
>>7122857
Riiight, I belive you, really I do.
Sunday night drunk night that I believe you.
>>
>>7122964

I'm not drunk I'm shit posting mobile with my infant son asleep on my shoulder.

I drink fairly often, but we do entertain a lot so it's fitting. A few bottles of wine a week between my wife and I.

Usually a glass or two with dinner.
>>
>>7122976
that's funny, i drink 1.75 liters of whiskey a week.
>>
>>7122961

None. Krug is nice, had a bottle in Montreal while on business a while ago.
>>
>>7122982

To each their own, no judgement from me.
>>
>>7122976
How many cats do you have?
>>
>>7122984
Krug's really good. If it's something that niggers like in their clubs then it's gonna suck, gotta look further than that of what a nigger can see.

You're better off getting a nice Italian prosecco.

pleb opinions general?

It's good, if you can spare it it's worth it. Price/quality better off with Vueve or Billecart

This.

Obviously OP isn't looking for a value-for-money price steal. He ants to try something famous and expensive as a treat.

Fair enough to the people talking about it's production and mediocrity. But don't berate him for wanting to try it for himself if he has the coin to spare.
>>
Buy some high quality beer instead. Depending on where you live the same amount of money would buy you a big fucking box of the best beer ever made. Enough quads, stouts and lambics to last until your next birthday.
>>
>>7122843
Why should I choose when often both are true?
I bet you're real fun at parties.

Champipple
>>
>>7122409
Don't do it. 2005 was an uneven vintage, and is nowhere near ready to drink now. You'd be wasting your money.

Just get a nice bottle of NV champagne and enjoy your birthday.
>>
>>7122409
no

I bought a bottle of that and crystal a bunch of years ago and would have been just as happy with champagne brut

pic related costs like 30 - 40 bucks
>>
>>7124104
>$220/a beer budget
I don't think so, definitely not if you're getting quads and lambics.

There are brindle coat bull terriers.

She's sterile, only reason she wasn't thousands of dollars. The breeder was going to drown her, that's literally what she said when we went out to her puppy mill to shop for a dog.

That was such a shitty day, but hey..worked out for us, having a second mommy around to guard/protect my son is really nice.
>>
>>7125263

Brut is a type of champagne, which Dom Perignon is...
>>
>>7125243

I'm not at a party to impress people I'm there to enjoy myself. You find pleasure putting on airs for other people? That's pathetic.

Refer to the first post ITT for a serious answer.
>>
>>7125278
k well the kind I got was that orange label one and it was just as good to a champagne pleb such as myself
>>
Why are people that know about wine always elitist snobs?

yes, and slimy short Persian dudes
>>
>>7125288

Veuve Cliquot also makes Extra Brut, Demi-sec, Sec, and Doux types of champagne which vary in sweetness ranging from:

Extra-brut being the driest to Doux being the sweetest.

I personally enjoy Veuve's Demi-sec, it's drinking very well this year.

Anyone who knows more than you about something they care about more than you on 4chan is an elitist snob. It's your first day here, isn't it? Please read the rules and FAQ before ever posting again. Thanks.

This.

Food and wine are quite literally how I make my living to feed MY family, I enjoy teaching others about it, if others desire to remain willfully ignorant that is on them.

Education is the key to the doorway of success, especially in the Culinary world.
>>
>>7125314
Shut the fuck up, you little pussy

I'd wreck your shit
>>
How can i into wine?
I wanna start off with 8 dollar=< wines then move up and understand the notes what pairs with what foods and all that jazz
I hear 14 hands is pretty good
>>
>>7125346
Drink a lot of a wide variety of wine, from both small and large producers. Pay attention to what you're drinking, and step outside your comfort zone as much as possible.

Some wines cost more than others, the more flexible you can be, the faster you'll learn.

Don't assume you'll love everything, and read about the stuff you like and the stuff you hate so you can understand the lingo and get better at figuring out what you'll like in the future.

Don't get stuck on one grape, or one country, or one color, or one style, or you'll stagnate.
>>
Just get a few bottles of Andre.
>>
>>7125322

Ohhhh you're mad because you're a child.

Okay, makes sense.
>>
>>7125466

>Andre

$2 bottle college swill for chuggin'.

Been a long time since I've heard that word, thanks for the nostalgia.
>>
The answer is and will aways be no

You don't buy it cause you can't afford it. You buy it because it's funny other people can't.
>>
>>7125475

$2? Damn it's always $5 a bottle here.
