Meh.....I don't like yeast rolls that are that sweet. I remember when I was a kid, and those were all the rage with the middle class families. I'd never had one (my mother always made yeast rolls from scratch), and I went to a friend's house and they were like "you HAVE to try these rolls, they are SO good", and I tried one, and had to fake oooohing and aaaaahing over it. Then I went home and told my mom about them and we had a good chuckle over it.
What I mean to say is, they aren't gross or anything, but they aren't wonderful either.

Taste great with pulled pork. The only kind of bun I like besides Potato rolls
>>
I live here and the only time I really have sweet bread is when someone is visiting and brings it as omiyage or when I'm planning to make French Toast.

Okay, here it is. Bear in mind, the dough will be very soft and tender. So flour your hands well while you work with the dough. But, because the dough is so soft, it yields very fluffy, tender yeast rolls.

1 2/3 cup milk, lukewarm
5 cups bread flour
2 envelopes (or 4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
2 3/4 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temp
2 eggs, at room temp
1 egg, beaten (to brush the tops with)

Combine the yeast, sugar, and milk together in a large mixing bowl, and stir to dissolve. Let sit until yeast proofs (bubbles). Mix flour and salt together in another bowl. To the yeast mixture, mix in the eggs and butter. The butter doesn't need to be completely incorporated, as it will distribute more as you knead the dough. Mix the flour/salt mixture into the wet ingredients, a cup at a time, until a soft dough forms. Turn out onto a floured board and knead well (usually for 10 minutes or so) until the dough, when stretched, forms a fine membrane or window. (There's also the "earlobe" test. Pinch the dough, and if it feels soft and pliable like your earlobe, it's ready).
Warm a bowl with hot water, then dry and oil the bowl. Put dough in, cover with plastic wrap and let it rise for 1 hour.
From here, you can form the dough into whatever kind of rolls you like. I usually do it the easy way and make cloverleaf rolls by portioning the dough into small balls and putting three balls into each cup of a muffin tin.
Once rolls are formed, cover with a towel and let rise for about an hour.
Preheat oven to 350F. Brush tops of rolls with beaten egg and bake for 13 minutes or until golden brown on top.

You can also do this recipe in a stand mixer with a dough hook.

Great for making pulled pork sliders.
>>
Pretty good if you squirt Nutella into the centre and microwave for 20 seconds.

I love making baked Hawaiian roll sandwiches, it's normally just a ham or turkey and swiss sandwich, then you put it in a pan and cover it with a mix of onion, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and butter, then bake it. They're delicious

what is so special about adding lots of butter and sugar to dough and baking it? I could do that right now, but I won't because I love bread and don't want to become a fatass eating it.
>>
>>7118862
Why on earth would you tuck in a sandwich?

It's food, not a small child.
>>
>>7117245
Way too sweet. It's good if you eat it with something that counters its sweetness though.

Literally God-tier rolls.

This Thanksgiving my mother bought a pack of them. I showed up around 3pm without eating anything the whole day. Saw these bad boys on the counter, and they were gone in about 30 minutes.
>>
if it wasn't so sugary it would be pretty good with some fried chicken or something.
>>
I bet they would make good stuffing/dressing for turkey. Bummed i didnt think about this earlier
>>

350 for about 20 minutes

tuck in (or into)
phrasal verb of tuck
1.
informal
eat food heartily.
"I tucked into the bacon and scrambled eggs"
>>
>>7119693
no prob, and also this was my first time trying it with turkey, wouldn't recommend. Normally I'd take turkey over ham for a sandwich, but for this recipe the ham was way better for some reason
>>
>>7117246
I put sriracha and avocado on mine. It's pretty epic guys lol xDxD!!!
>>
>>7118210
i'm muslim but that combination of sweet bread and sweet meat is just brilliant. It better be honey glazed ham though.
