I hate real lemons and most lemon flavored candy. There are some exeptions when it comes to candy, because some are more sweet which gets rid of the "bitter" taste that I feel

All flavours have their purpose. Grapefruit combines well in cocktails with alcohol because the bitters complement each other. But yuzu for instance works a lot better with luscious white choclate. You need to know how to use it. Lemons are great for a very fruity acidic flavour but then again in the candy the lemon flavour is usually artificial and that has some clear drawbacks in terms of refinement of the said flavour. I think flavour education should be thought at a young age otherwise you are left with a world with handicapped tongues like OP. This is very sad because then people can't fully enojy the extent of the flavours life have to offer. Even thinking about the US makes me sad then again thinking of Italie makes me happy again...
