Martini, of course. Just about anything citrusy like Sprite or whatever goes well with gin, even straight citrus juice (probably with sugar). Or with just about any tart juice. I recently had gin and a sweeter apple cider and it was out of this world, but the gin was initially distilled from apples and that might affect it; I don't know how a more common gin might go with it. Tart and bitter tastes go well with it; experiment. Might find something new. Friend of mine mixed bitter lemon and pomegranate juice with gin and it was stellar.

I made a gin and tonic goddamn was that gross. This may have been free, but goddamn I really don't know if I like this stuff

Mix one 16oz can with a jigger of Gin... incredible drink after a shitty day.

I prefer gin to vodka... but again, its like any booze, personal preference.

I can't stand gin. I've tried hendricks, bombay, and a couple other entry level ones and I just hate it. Hendricks was the most tolerable.
That being said, tonic water is the only way I could stomach the stuff.

Gin and tonic can be really nice, it is a lot better than tonic water on its own. I do it like this:

>4 ice cubes in glass
>fill glass up with gin until all ice cubes are floating
>add wedge of lemon / lime
>fill glass up with tonic

Should be around 1/3 gin and 2/3 tonic. Tastes really good, give it a go.

As for OP, if you like lemon buy yourself some Fever tree lemon :) you can use some orange peel, twist it and put it in for some extra aroma and taste

I think 2:1 vermouth to gin is a bit too much vermouth, but apparently thats the original recipe. Gin used to be shit back in the day though, so recipes now typically have more gin and less vermouth than they used to.
