Hey /ck/! I got a bottle of Gin. What do I do with it? I know of gin and tonic but I hate tonic water. Any good, and easy cocktails or mixed drinks?
>>
>>7107408
extra dry gin martini

>mix one parts gin to one parts gin over ice in shaker
>shake and pour
>add olive/lemon/whatever
>>
i hate to say this, but gin and orange juice is drinkable.

mix it with pic related
>>
>>7107408
mix it with your trash can unless you're a 60+ year old white male
>>
>>7107420

Or use the lime one for a gin sidecar fizz.

Based drink.
>>
>>7107408
Why don't you just drink it straight?
>>
You could pretty much mix gin with anything. But if it's Bombay, thats a good gin. I would just drink straight
>>
>>7107408
Got a copper mug?
Make a Glasgow mule
Same as Moscow mule but vodka replaced with gin
>>
>>7107514
Bombay is solid gin
There are better gins out there
Perfectly understandable if you mix it in stuff
But it should be in a cocktail where the gin can shine
If you're going to mix it with syrups and stuff use shitty gin
>>
>>7107414
Do you roll down the street smoking an endo?
>>
>>7107514
Wasn't gin the reason why mixed drinks were invented? I really don't know I only really drink beer and whiskey
>>
>>7107543
Yea back when gin was made in bath tubs
They mixed it with quinine, let that sink in, because it tasted so bad

But there is a lot of good stuff now
Between dry and botanicals you can find a gin fit just about anybody
>>
>>7107561
Well I mixed about a shots worth with fresca, bretty gud. I'll try it straight after I finish this

Tonic water is a bit shit on it's own but is nice with gin. Just don't cheap out get a nice tonic like schwepps. I prefer mine with a slice of lime.
>>
>>7107689
My grandmother swears by diet shwepps tonic
Says its far better for gin and tonics
And always always lots and lots of fresh sliced lime
>>
>>7107408
gin and lemonade or throw it in the trash because gin is disgusting
>>
>>7107408

Martini, of course. Just about anything citrusy like Sprite or whatever goes well with gin, even straight citrus juice (probably with sugar). Or with just about any tart juice. I recently had gin and a sweeter apple cider and it was out of this world, but the gin was initially distilled from apples and that might affect it; I don't know how a more common gin might go with it. Tart and bitter tastes go well with it; experiment. Might find something new. Friend of mine mixed bitter lemon and pomegranate juice with gin and it was stellar.
>>
I made a gin and tonic goddamn was that gross. This may have been free, but goddamn I really don't know if I like this stuff
>>
gin over ice
sit with english people and complain about the colonials
>>
>>7107703
Yea diet schwepps is actually really good as well and I've heard quite a few people saying it's better than regular.
>>
>>7108034
I think it's a little easier on the quinine and is more carbonated
But u don't particularly care for gin and tonic
>>
Gin is awesome, you plebs. Mix 1.5 oz with half a sqeezed lime, lots of ice, and top with soda (and maybe a splash of tonic). Highball glass. That's been my road drink for like 10 years.
>>
>>7107408
Gin gimlet is nice, simple. Very tart, I love it.
>>
>>7107540
haha I get it Ty Dolla $ign said that.
>>

>>
Get bottle of pom, some mint, and a wedge of lime, add the same amount of gin as pom.

muddle that shit in a shaker, put ice in there and shake the shit out of it. Strain it off and drink it. ezpz
>>
Drink it while watching the Phantom Menace
>>
>>7107845
you need ice! without ice it's bad. If it wasn't a refreshing experience, you did it wrong.
>>
>>7108173
Isn't that just a Tom Collins?
>>
Mix one 16oz can with a jigger of Gin... incredible drink after a shitty day.

I prefer gin to vodka... but again, its like any booze, personal preference.
>>
I can't stand gin. I've tried hendricks, bombay, and a couple other entry level ones and I just hate it. Hendricks was the most tolerable.
That being said, tonic water is the only way I could stomach the stuff.
>>
>>7108491
Pretty much
Except Tom Collins has simple syrup instead of tonic
I prefer a lemon and lime with club soda and gin all in a glass filled with ice
>>
Am I the only one that loves the smell of gin? I could smell that shit for hours.

Listen up fuckface, because I'm only going to say this 40 or 50 times a day over the next 7 years:

Whip out them stank eggs from your trousers and teabag that hot mess. Once your jingle jangle in-betweeners are nice and lathered up, pull out a handful of monster slim jims from your shame stash in that bottom drawer you keep hidden from your mom. Unwrap them stick nasties and put them in your upper lip like you're the tentacle mouthed terror of the trailer park you're so desperate to leave and head to the kitchen. Unwrap a stick of butter, take off your shirt (if not already topless) and grease up, 'cause you got work to do.

Are you ready for what's next? You gotta want it, lil' tonka, or this might just eat you up.

You are going to go outside, sit in the sun, release that grease, bend over as far as you can, slurp the durp of your gurp with your jimtacles, and suck that shit down like the cheap bourbon you drink for breakfast. You'll find the butter has not only given you a lovely aroma, but also tanned your sickly hide.

Once your grim meal is complete, you will stand reborn and unafraid.

Make a faggot screwdriver.

It's the same as a screwdriver but with gin instead of vodka.

Literally anything worth drinking that has vodka is better with gin
>>
>>7109027
yeah, that's what the cocktail is called
>>
>>7107408

Gin and tonic can be really nice, it is a lot better than tonic water on its own. I do it like this:

>4 ice cubes in glass
>fill glass up with gin until all ice cubes are floating
>add wedge of lemon / lime
>fill glass up with tonic

Should be around 1/3 gin and 2/3 tonic. Tastes really good, give it a go.

like >>7107526 said, Bombay isn´t good gin, it´s slightly above average, if you want a really good gin you should go for Geranium, Beefeater 24 or Tanqueray No.10 all with some fever tree tonic or 1724 tonic water, fentimans if you like really citric flavours! As for OP, if you like lemon buy yourself some Fever tree lemon :) you can use some orange peel, twist it and put it in for some extra aroma and taste

Why wouldn't you? It's barely drinkable without a solid chunk of lime.

I like your style anon. Martinez is a seriously good drink.

I think 2:1 vermouth to gin is a bit too much vermouth, but apparently thats the original recipe. Gin used to be shit back in the day though, so recipes now typically have more gin and less vermouth than they used to.
