When I worked at a legit mom and pop pizza place, I'd make my calzones with both pizza sauce and marinara. Even though it isn't as uniform as dunking it, somehow having the ingredients sitting the sauce made it taste better.

Do it faggot.

Calzone should only have a few ingredients. Mozzarella, ricotta, spinach, ham or salami. If you pump it with pizza sauce you're basically baking an inside out deep dish.

the bigger question is, are you making the marinara sweet? because that always ruins it for me, I gotta have non sweet tangy marinara
