And why is it the Rollmops?

>pickled, doesn't go bad
>convenient cylindrical shape
>can be eaten straight from the jar
>no dirty plates
>>
I have been buying various canned fish lately, its about time I moved on to pickled

>people say they "love seafood"
>cant handle eating herring and anchovies
>>
>>7075638
My mom would always can smoked salmon, shit was so cash as a dip with some cream cheese and dill
>>
>>7075651
That looks awesome, do they sell pickled smoked salmon?
>>
>>7075655
I haven't seen it pickled before, but I would totes eat it. The oil is a little gross at first desu
>>
>>7075638
I don't like pickles. Is it done with onion or perhaps potatoes? I do like herring that has been pickled
>>
>>7075668

Is that cabbage below the fish? Just googled zavináče and stumbled upon Nakládaný Hermelin, I need to try that.
>>
I like pickled fish in general but rollmops is typically on the double plus sour end of things. Not a fan.
>>
>>7075638

Seems that its accepted internationally, though
>>

Looks like. Just like German food, Czechs are flinging cabbage fucking everywhere.

>Nakládaný Hermelin
It sounds gross if you've never had it, but it's actually really good. Excellent beer snack.
>>
>>7076601
Looks cool, but what does it have to do with fish?
>>
I bought matjes herring yesterday to try, expecting them to be salty and a little tangy, but they were just so sickly sweet to me. Are there any pickled herrings that are more savoury?

Generally speaking blue in nature means mold, fish need not apply.

Not so much that it shouldn't exist as much as that blue is an indication that you should beware. Biologically speaking anyway.
>>
>>7075638
I love raw fish but does anyone else feel less brave when consuming raw fish with the skin still on top of it?

It is like the skin reminds you more that you are eating raw fish.
