I hate caesar salad 99% of the time, but that's because nobody knows how to make it right. One time I went to some pub in Virginia about 10 years ago that had a legit chef as the gimmick, I don't know how that guy did it but his caesar salad was out of this world. It's just really hard to do justice I guess.

Well pizza has a fine balance to it, you have rich salty cheese, acidic tomato sauce, spicy chili flakes, nice crisp cured meats, and roasted vegetables.

Its incredibly versatile, cheap, easily made with the right equipment in large quality sustained quantities, makes for good leftovers, and its easy to control how much of a portion you want. Not so hungry? 2 slices, hungry? 4 slices ect.

To find something as versatile, easy and delicious is hard to come by, and unlike a lot of fattier foods pizza doesn't leave you feeling like a bag of shit after you eat it.

Of course there is shitty pizza, most american chains like pizza hut or dominoes or any chain really kind of just sucks donkey cock, but if you judge food by american chain standards you are pretty head fucked anyway and your opinion should be completely disregarded(not that im saying this about you, but if it is true then yeah, sorry).

I get some stuff is over rated but that doesn't mean its bad at all and not enjoyable.
think about when you get a wiff of fresh bread or roast chicken or when you're surprised by an unassuming dish when you weren't expecting much.

expectation means alot.

but, yeah abalone is not my thing. Its mostly used dried with dried scallops and one other thing i can't remember in traditionally chinese cooking.

I'm in NZ, and I literally can go for a 30 minute swim just down the road and get enough for 10 people. Abalone really doesn't carry the status here that it has in the EU and US. I rate it a solid 10/10 for deliciousness though. Cooked on the BBQ with garlic butter or braised in tomato and peppers, it's fucking amazing.
