i have no money until friday, and will probably proceed to have very little after that, thanks to paying things off.
i also do not have gas for the stove, which means i am exclusively microwave bound.
last night i threw a chicken breast in the processor, and mixed that mash with some apice and a hair of oil. oiled up a playe and spread the wad of chicken spice flat. microwaved it, and got a flat piece of chicken, not bad with rice.
any other ideas of ways to keep myself alive this next week? i have some dried goods like beans and lentils, and some popcorn kernals, as well. enough rice to keep me alive for a few more days, a slab of frozen beef, ground piece, one or two pieces of chicken, and various frozen veggies.
before you ask, i just moved out of a place where my pantry became severely constrained.
microwave general? can you help me not die?
Check out weber cooks on yt. Hang in there wildcat
Anyone here have any experience with buying groceries online? I've been looking into it, the prices aren't as high as I imagined they would be.
>Pantry box
>Paper plates
>Dish soap
>toothpaste?
>soda
what.

Sure. I've bought herbs and spices, sausage casings, caul fat, wild game (poultry), old-fashioned style ham and bacon, and cheeses via mail-order. I've never had a problem with it and it's a great way to get products that you can't get locally.

It's a huge industry in the UK. Employs tens of thousands.

Why didn't you tell me about this before, seekay? I thought you loved me...

Well, anon, we didn't think you'd willingly make dog food for yourself. Raw egg yolk? Come on. Enjoy your soggy bread and goop covered egg white.
Joe Rogan would be proud. Just needs jalapenos and some El Yucateco.

Anyone have recommendations for a chefs knife? Just looking to replace an all purpose knife and I don't really know what's good anymore.
>>9011635
Any of the foodservice brands. Victorinox/Forschner gets recommended often, and it is a good knife, but it's price has gone up in recent years and the others are the same thing but remain cheaper. Dexter-Russel, Bakers and Chefs, etc.
>>9011635
Get a Miyabi or a Wusthof if you want to go german. Global knives are pretty solid too.

Thanks, looking into it!

There are things I wanna cook that would be better in the oven.
Anyone have advice on using what seems to be a one temperature, tiny, shitty, gas apartment oven?
Pic related. I'm broke and will be until next week.
Even with one I'm not sure how I'd keep the temp consistent
Is culinary school worth it?
Even if it's just to prove you brainlets that you have wrong taste in food?

Are you willing to pay thousands and thousands of dollars for a certificate?
Do you want to work at a less stressful job like food R&D?
Do you want to learn some skills to help in opening and operating your own business?
Culinary School has many merits, but it's a shortcut. You could always save the money and just get the skills and experience from where the places you work.

Do American cooks not go to a trade school and get a journeyman certificate like they do in Canada?
Breakfast Amercain.......nothing better in this world to feed an aching hangover.
>>9011330
I have no disagreement with that plate other than the fact I like my toast pretty crispy. It's a personal preference thing and I understand that you like it more doughy. Other than that I am pretty jealous of your breakfast. My hangover food was leftover chicken enchiladas.

Had I labeled it "American Breakfast" you might have had a point.
That I labeled it transposed in the European manner, and that you failed to recognize it as such, demonstrates that it is, in fact, your education system that is sadly lacking.

I like chanterelles in bechamel sauce, I usually put it inside crepes
boletus (porcini) is great for this too, but I find the flavor is too intense for crepes, so it's better with some egg pasta
>>9011237
Chanterelles are good. Its common here to just fry them with a good knob of butter and onions, then eat on the side or just as that.
Well guys, I did it. I finally did it.
/ck/ challenged me to find the perfect food and I've done it. When you get right down to it, McDonalds sausage breakfast burrito is the perfect food.
>cooked hot and fresh each morning
>moist and warm New Hampshire eggs
>perfectly and modestly spiced Iowa sausage
>warm pepper shavings
>delicate authentic tortillas (diversity!)
>$1
>available till 11:00am
I fucking love 4chan so I thought I would share with this hot tip with you. Get a breakfust burrito today! It's the perfect start to your day!
I appreciate your opinion and respect it highly, but for me, this is more of a...how you say, wordly delight? I like it on those days I'm feeling quite spicy. For my daily perfect food, I prefer the McChicken.
Fuck, can we just get a fast food general already.

>cooked hot and fresh each morning
I think you mean reheated.

So I really enjoy the taste of sweet and spicy flavorings together.
and I'm thinking of making for chicken and dumplings tonight (A nice homely meal)
what kind of stuff could I mix into it while I cook it on the stove to satisfy my cravings?
Red pepper flakes is the only thing I could think of that may add some spicy to chicken and dumplings without ruining the original flavor. If you add sliced/chopped peppers it will change the entire flavor, same with hot sauces. Red pepper flakes just add a little heat basically.
