Gimme your best fantasy/tg inspired recipes.
One time I made some "lembas", aka trail bread made by elves from Lord of the Rings, as an experiment to see if it's something I would serve to my friends on D&D night using a modified hard-tack recipe. I tried to make it more pleasant to eat and little more nourishing than hard-tack usually is. Here it is.
2 cups of all-purpose flour
2 cups of quick oats
2 cups of water
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons white sugar
Combine the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl, making sure they're mixed well. Add water and knead into a dry dough. Roll out the dough to a 1/2 inch in thickness, and cut into 3 inch squares. Score a cross with a knife into the top of each square, and poke 9 holes in a square pattern all the way through with a toothpick. Lay them out on a baking sheet and put them in the oven at 375 F for 30 minutes. Take them out, allow them to cool, then flip them over and bake again at 375 F for another 30 minutes. Allow the lembas to dry out by keeping them in the open for a few days, then wrap them in cheesecloth or parchment paper and store them in an air-tight container. It should keep for a couple of months, and makes a nice snack. I suggest serving them with milk or soup to soften them, as they should be very crisp.
but
you could serve them dry ramen instead

At what point should I add elf magic?
hey guys
I'm gonna make chili for the first time
so far I have:
fresh garlic
fresh basil
ground chuck
unsweetened cocoa
cinnamon - my mom said add just a pinch
paprika
chili powder
rotel tomatoes with green chilis
sriracha tomatos with red chilis
chili beans
beef stock
yuengling black and tan
tomato paste
a yellow pepper, a red pepper, and a jalapeno pepper
and some leftover corn
I'm kind of nervous
>>9104920
Ditch the basil. Otherwise you're set for making a pretty standard chili.
oh yeah I got an onion too
I forgot to get the green pepper from work, oh well
>>9104927
hmm, okay
I had some extra on hand and figured it couldn't be a bad thing
>>9104920
I like my chili quite a bit spicier than just one jalapeño. I add Serrano peppers too. Also, what kind of chili powder? Ancho is popular for this, but Chipotle chili powder will give you some smokey heat too.
They've been building a Sheetz in my town, it opens next week. I've been told they have really good food. What should I get?

>I've been told they have really good food.
I wouldn't trust anyone who tells you that. They have slioghtly better food than what you'd expect to find in a gas station.

The only fast food here is a McDonalda and 7-11.
It has to be an upgrade.
Opinion on Slovenian food? Have you tried it? Do you like it?
>>9104471
I dig the bread but I haven't tried anything else.
Its only redeeming qualities are žganci and ričet. It has no distinct identity aside from one-pot meals such as stews and soups.
Not to say that it isn't good, but it's just really simple to the point of it being "generic", I'd say. It's best described as local peasant food.
i cant think of a single Slovenian food. from that image nothing looks unique to Slovenia i think
Im trying to put together a medieval type menu. Like appetisers, main dish, desert, drinks. Can /ck/ help? I think im gonna use mead and spiced wine as the drinks and for the main dish i think ill do something with rabbits. Help? Ideas? Im cooking for the whole family btw. And the food doesnt have to be exacly medieval, just with the medieval aestetics
>>9104406
>aestetics
>>9104406
Sure. And kind of meat cooked on-the-bone would be good. Game especially, if you have access to that. Something like a leg-of-lamb, roasted poultry, etc. Bonus points if you can spit-roast it rather than doing it in the oven.
Mead and spiced wine are good ideas. Beer wouldn't be bad either.
Appetizers: get a big serving plate and stick a whole loaf of country-style or other rustic bread on it. Big chunks of cheese. Sausage. Preserves. A big old-school looking knife for people to serve themselves.
Dessert? Some kind of fruit pie or tart.

Rich medieval people who could afford to eat meat regularly would season it with exotic spices like cloves and nutmeg, and also fruit. Mustard is a pretty classic Old Europe spice too.
Is this the best phallic-shaped vegetable?

-no seasoning on patty
-meat looks shitty
-patties poorly formed
-pan wasn't hot enough when the meat went in (I ought to be seeing some steam or distortion from the heat)
These are overrated.

How does /ck/ enjoy their avocado?
I've been trying to eat them the past few days but they're very rich and I find it hard to eat more than a quarter of one.
I like to make a very basic salad with avocado, tomato chunks and a splash of vinaigrette.
The avocado toast meme is pretty good to be honest.

I make a smoothie and add some sugar and chocolate syrup

Find a ripe one, open it up, squeeze out the goods into a bowl, add a little salt, some cumin, little bit of garlic powder, mash it up with the back of a fork, spread it on toast.
Or slide it in the skin, then squeeze it out onto a plate, serve with scrambled eggs. Delicious.
Let's go on an adventure /ck/
Hmmmm

You palateless retard. All it needs is some salt.
>>9102021
I'm assuming we're talking about tilapia right? It has a subtle, sweet, mild flavor yes. I'm not saying drown it in chili powder and cilantro, I'm saying accentuate it with strong flavors that bring out the fish's sweetness. Frankly, just salt is boring.
I know you have em, and its time to spill

FYI: If you don't like Brussel srouts with minimal seasoning, you're still a child
Who
/sprout/ here?
They're tiny shitty cabbages. Cabbage is fine e but Brussels sprouts can fuck off.
