I try to drink a lot of tea.
I spend good money on high quality loose leaf teas and steep them the proper time to ensure they turn out the best they can.
So they taste pretty decent.
But yesterday I went to my friends house and met his grandmother, an ancient asian women.
She boiled some water and put some fucking Lipton tea bags in there and gave it to use.
The taste of this tea was miles above anything I've ever made. I've never imagined Lipton could taste that good.
How the fuck do I either fuck it up so hard or does she make it so well?

Hi /ck/. Can we talk about pan sauces? I just seared a chicken breast and decided to make a pan sauce with the brown bits. I deglazed with some white wine (Riesling), reduced it down, then added the same amount of chicken stock, reduced it again. Then I melted in a knob of butter. It came out pretty good, but it's extremely tangy (mostly when I first touch it to my tongue). Is this acidity due to the wine? What can I do to improve this?
Also share techniques/recipes.

That's the thing, I did put on weight once but it took a toll on me, I had to eat when I'm not hungry, I felt like shit all the time and when I'm done eating I felt so bad I had suicidal thoughts.

I totally get the argument for not eating meat, but why do you have to avoid animal products as well? This is for all the vegans and people with knowledge out there. Also, to all the vegans: is being a vegetarian bad?

Dairy cows and chickens that are kept for eggs are sometimes treated badly too. Not a vegan or vegetarian but I still recognize the problems with modern food production, but I think the best solution is to minimize harm and waste right now while supporting the development of lab-grown meat and animal-free milk. You'll never get everyone to turn vegan.

I am so fucking tired of these subway-style mexican restaurants. there's like 9 within a 15 mile radius of me and they all suck.
