it's a shame people don't eat it as much as they used to, it's one of the most nutritious parts of an animal

Underrated, but make sure to let it sit in the fridge overnight in a bowl of milk.
You will be grateful when you take it out the next day and see the disgusting stuff that it left behind that you will no longer have to eat

Soft-serve ice cream machines are nightmares in general.

They __HAVE__ to be emptied and cleaned every night after closing to maintain cleanliness, but many places don't.
>>
>>9230919
and its probably some waste catcher that is no where near the actual ice cream or any parts that would matter if it leaked. stop fear mongering mcdonalds is a modern miracle

last few days I've eaten only a banana for breakfast, carrots, cucumber and celery for lunch and grilled chicken breasts with broccoli for dinner. Also some almonds and a lot of tea. What else can I eat that will help me lose weight and not make me go crazy or break down and quit my diet? I am a candy addict and used to eat a whole large bag of candy each night so am really badly craving sugar, especially before bed, is it ok to make a small fruit smoothie as a dessert? Are eggs ok? What about hummus?

download my fitness pal on ur phone and count calories. the trick to losing weight without excercise is being at a calorie defecit. you should aim to eat between 1200-1500 calories if you're just starting to lose weight.

essentially all foods are okay if you count how much of it your eating. for example, you could still have a lollipop everyday if u eat at a deficit.
>>
>>9230842
careful with almonds
they have a crazy amount of calories for how much you eat
>>
>>9230842

Eat a ketogenic diet, it makes the sugar cravings go away eventually.

I used to get hammered and eat pieces of various cuts of steak after seasoning or marinating them, but before they went on the grill.
Tasted good at the time, but people would look at me like I'm some savage degenerate

raw meat is usually not bought in the us to eat raw unless you have a good butcher,

What do you guys think about drinkable meal replacements like Soylent or Ample? I'm lifting ATM. I'm leaning towards Ample and using the powder to make my regular protein shakes that'll last me through the day. I'm thinking about trying it to cut back on eating food throughout the day, possibly to save money. I heard Soylent is tasty, but i'm all that soy in the long run makes me anxious.

And yes, for the record, "Soylent is people".

You'll die.
>>
The thing I've noticed with replacing solid food with any liquid/shake alternative is it really does not keep you full as long. You will probably be hungry within three hours regardless of the calorie count.
>>
>>9230748

I thought about that. I was wondering if I took the Soylent or Ample stuff and made my regular meal shakes? It typically contains Dates, a ripe banana, almond butter, maca, flax powder, chia seed, almond milk...

You're telling me I can't stretch that out with this stuff?

It's not a meme. "Organic" just means no pesticides; how is that a meme?

Okay. This is serious, I swear. What is the healthiest oil or butter to cook with--and does it change depending on the cooking method?

I.e....

Regular generic butter
Grassfed butter
Ghee
Olive/coconut/avocado/grapeseed oil (some of which I've heard called a "meme" and actually are very unhealthy...?)

If possible I'd like your reasoning for whatever you think is the healthiest. Studies would be nice, too.
33 posts and 6 images submitted.
>>
I use the bare minimum of oil. I never use butter. What are you using the oil for? eating lots of fried food is unhealthy.
>>
Olive oil, coconut oil, sesame oil, and ghee. Can't go wrong with any of those, as far as health is concerned.
>>
>>9230500
Hm, I cook vegetables in a wok or a fry pan a lot without frying them, or just make stir-frys. It's kind of my thing but I understand that maybe this isn't a healthy way of cooking.

I was just thinking about butter and oil because I'm starting to buy into the whole "fat isn't the enemy" stuff and was wondering if it really is better off if I incorporate some into my cooking--especially when only fatless ingredients are involved.

Do you have any family knives / tools that your family has passed on to you. I have this knife from my great grandpa when he met my grandmother. He loved her so much he made knives for her even though he has no experience in that subject. Quite sweet really. They are both still married for 43 years and counting. Grandpa is 83 and Grandma is 82

Oh wow, he made a knife for her. I bet she totally flipped her shit. Everyone knows girls go bonkers over custommade slicer knives.

A hint anon: If your grandparents are still married, all credit for that goes to your grandmother.

I've recently bought a slow cooker to help feed me through uni. What are some cheap beef/chicken recipes that I can use for my slow cooker?

Pot roast
>>
Pot roast.

chuck roast
potato
Carrot
celery
Mushrooms
Onions

Make sure to brown your meat

http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2009/10/perfect-pot-roast-recipe-pioneer-woman.html

Sample recipe, feel free to take liberties experiment with flavors vegetables. Worcestershire is great. When Dutch oven recipes say put in oven that's when you transfer everything to your slow cooker. Browning the meat helps a lot but I'm not sure if you have other kitchen appliances?
