Crystal can be made much thinner. This matters for things like the rims on decanters, brandy snifters, and wine glasses. Also, lead crystal will shine brilliantly almost like a gemstone when cut well. Other than that, it really depends.It's like eating from actual silverware rather than stainless and real bone china rather than just porcelain. Refinement for things like that is beautiful and is valued as something to pass down. These days makers like Schott make crystal without lead that is strong and dishwasher-safe. I have a few pieces of it myself and toss it in the dishwasher and it comes super clear.

A white meat can should have little cubes or something that proves it was cut from a breast.

Just because you bought them fresh doesn't mean they are ripe yet, guy. Peaches shouldn't be hard, they should be firm, but with a slight give when lightly squeezed. When you smell the stem end it should smell strongly of peach.

Under-ripe peaches will be hard and not smell very strongly yet. Overripe will be soft and feel like it will bruise easily and start to smell a little off. If you buy underripe just leave them on the counter for a few days and they will ripen. Putting them in a paper bag will speed it a bit.
