Can't stop making this after trying it in a cuban community in Florida.
What are some other meals that are filling and delicious as fuck?
>>9207805

what do i do with this
>>9207608
throw it in the trash
Roll up with lemon zest to make meatballs.
Serve with spaghetti, creme fraiche, rocket and the lemon juice.
>>9207608
Flip it vertically so you can read the directions.
Rate my brunch. 4 breakfast sausage, 3 hard boiled eggs, homemade hash browns with paprika, salt, pepper, cayenne, vanilla Greek yogurt (hadn't tried this variety from this brand, I wasn't really a fan) with blueberries. Not pictured: tall glass of oj and milk

YOU EAT ALL THAT SHIT BETWEEN BREAKFAST AND LUNCH?
For a complete beginner, what's a good cookbook to start with?
>>9207194
Get a library card you useless fuck.
>>9207194
I think maybe google the top 10 wedding gift cookbooks...there's a reason why it's Better Homes & Gardens Cooking, Joy of Cooking, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, How to Cook Everything, etc etc. Got a lot of beginner questions asked in the indices.
I moved to Indianapolis about 2 months ago. I'm 5 minutes away from Broad Ripple, which is apparently the go-to place for restaurants and bar in this city. Any fellow Indy-fags want to suggest the best restaurants I should hit up?
>>9207061
If you're looking for a good steak go to St. Elmos.
>>9207393
I've been to Max and Erna's which is their sister restaurant. Good steak, not worth 50 bucks in my opinion though.
>tfw black thumb that kills plants
What herbs do you like to grow and eventually kill from incompetence?
I do that with rosemary and basil. Well, the basil died, still have two rosemary plants struggling along though. It was really nice having fresh basil, I have to say.
I've got too green of a thumb. My pepper plants are falling over from their size/number of peppers on them. Feels bad, man
>>9207046
I know this feeling. I grew some tomatoes and peppers out back in my old place, and they produced like crazy. Then I moved, and now there are probably rotten tomatoes and chiles and bell peppers all over the backyard of the old place just chilling there
What villainy has happened to my pan?
>aluminum
Probably left it soaking in water after cooking.
Not seasoning it properly either to prevent staining.
>>9206974
>3.6MB for a picture of a poverty pan
>>9206974
If I where to hazard a guess it was an aluminum pot that it put into the dishwasher and the bleach in the detergent corroded it.
What are your favorite foods and snacks to buy from Target?
Why does every Target have that peculiar smell of movie theater carpet, sugar, and air condition condensation?
>>9206977
Oh yeah huh
>>9206977
Probably because there's a movie theater-style popcorn maker in the food court right near the entrance.
What is the best quick but tasty meal that you can cook? (+ give your recipe)
I often do a rice/avocado... thing.
> cook the short grain rice in a rice cooker with salt and pepper. (I do 1 to 1 ratio rice/water)
> (optional) once cooked, add a splash of rice vinegar and let it rest while you cut the avocado.
> mash the avocado in your plate.
> add the cooked rice.
> enjoy.
I found it really creamy and rich.
Homemade pesto with roasted walnuts and tomatoes. Only takes like 20 minutes
What do you consider quick? Prep, or total cooking time?
>>9206922
Total cooking time
I've tested out a lot of online recipes but they're all shit and taste NOTHING like the authentic japanese katsu curry does.
I know I'm probably a shit cook, but most of these recipes lack some key ingredient which I can't put my finger on.
So any advice /ck/? Is there a good book on Japanese recipes that isn't tainted by gaijins?
That's what katsu tastes like without nip spit in it anon
>>9206662
I don't think many japanese or weeabos alike actually make this from scratch, anon.
This JustBento lady seems to be spot on when I try her recipes, so check your attempts against her recipe

I find katsu a tough way to serve pork. It's protein cooked at a high heat that wasn't tenderized like a schnitzel.
How do I become a mixologist? They are always talked about around where I live and make good $$

>How do I become a mixologist? They are always talked about around where I live and make good $$
I think most of them buy their own bar so they can be the bartender/proprietor. If you aren't a cool hipster that can promote yourself for sex appeal maybe go make your first million so you can afford the liquor license and hone your skills in the meantime.
>>9206596
>talked about around where I live
They talk about it in mummy's basement ?
>>9207411
not all of us live like you do, faggot
i am moving to the ghetto soon this one dish alone will make me rich see ya on the flip side

The real dish is inbetween her legs
Hey i got a question how the fuck do i make this shit but it not come out so runny serioisly i wait like 10 minutes after the shits been done and sitting there and still looks like soup, like do i put less milk or what the fuck do i do?
Less liquids/boil it longer? idk seems obvious
>>9206453
What are the directions for making it? If you're doing it in the microwave you have to make sure it comes up to a boil for it to thicken properly, which can take 2-3 minutes more than what the package says if you have a weaker microwave.
Make actual pasta that doesn't come with premade, powdered sauce you fucking animal
>be at academic conference
>meet up with 3 friends for lunch
>1 friend brings along a german guy and australian guy
>company paying for everything, so plan to go to a decent lunch restaurant
>roll in with 6 people at lunchtime, so they say there will be a small wait for a table
>australian and german guys having none of it
>they want to leave and find somewhere else that we dont have to wait
>4/6 of us agreed so we left
>german guy has a great restaurant in mind
>okay, we follow him
>ask him what kind of place it is
>"its an amazing frankfurter restaurant"
>so.... hot dogs?
>"ja"
>sigh.jpg
>arrive at the "frankfurter" restaurant (apparently this guy had already been there the day before)
>order a kielbasa with kraut, onions, mustard because thats what you do
>get a shriveled (split in half because why would you cook a sausage whole?) "kielbasa" that somehow tasted like a shittier version of a hotdog
>german guy orders two hot dogs with all sorts of weird shit on it and fries
>$9 for a crappy kielbasa + kraut/mustard (because thats $2 extra)

What is it with foreigners and their obsession with American fast food? I'm a born and raised US citizen and I maybe will go to a chipotle or panera out of pure necessity but I dont give a fuck nor do I ever seriously desire fast food. I know plenty of people who get it on occasion, but nothing like the weird fast food lust I see from foreign visitors to the US.
The place was franktuary in Pittsburgh if anyone has been there before. I highly recommend avoiding it unless you are a hot dog enthusiast.
>>9206449
Maybe he just liked it because it reminded him of food from home. Tbh though most fast food tastes okay if it's made properly and not old, a lot of money, time, and research goes into making that stuff taste good. And it sounds like he was just hungry and didn't care too much, just wanted food.
>>9206449
meh generalisations are boring, especially when an american claims foreigners always want fastfood.
some europeans have no idea about food, same as everywhere on the planet, i personally experienced it multiple times the other way around, americans in korea/china heading straight to mcdonalds etc
dear coking, i often sleep with an open package of cheese beneath my nose to help me go to sleep because its so soothing and a nice and good
