Yeah, it just won't taste as fresh at it used to. I have some herbs and spices in my kitchen that are 19 years old, but were sealed for 15 years. They're still alright, I don't use them often. My grandma, as of 2014, had spices from the 70's in her cupboard. I smelled them and they seemed alright, but I didn't use any in the meal I was making for us.
bought a pork sirloin half
im going to cook it in the oven but i have no idea what to season it with
do you guys have any suggestions?

Marinate in orange gatorade and saffron.
Thyme, rosemary, salt, pepper, garlic
Does anyone here make their own bread? If so, how much do you save instead of buying it from the store?
>>9243833
Nothing if you count time, effort, ingredients and the cost of running a hot stove for several hours.
>>9243851
This. Saving money usualuly isn't a selling point of homebaking.
If you're eating enough bread where you have to consider making it at home to save money then you probably have bigger problems than 50 cents
Anyone know of any decent vegan or vegetarian recipes that aren't terrible and are difficult to screw up?
My workplace is having a potluck tomorrow, and a few of my coworkers are vegan. I could just bring in something normal, but I'd like to at least attempt to be accommodating. I've never made any vegan dishes before so I'd appreciate any advice that you might have.
pic unrelated
>>9243809
Thanks for being considerate. Try asking r/vegan or use the sidebar. This gets asked a lot.
If you have access to vegan alternatives, you can make pretty much any dish.
I've had success with jackfruit tacos. But youd have to buy bbq jackfruit.
If you cant think of anything else, chips and hummus are loved almost universally by vegans.

These help with alcohol cravings. Got a 67-year-old friend who eats them all day for the same reason too.
>Mongolian BBQ is actually Taiwanese
this is the first time I've seen mongolian BBQ discussed on this mongolian BBQ imageboard

Strange considering the vastness of the Khan dynasty's territory. Guriltai Shul is pretty intricate and heavily complex in flavor.
I realized that I come to /ck/ everytime I feel hungry and then satisfy that feeling by reading threads.
I also realized that I think way too much about food

Check into an ED clinic fatty. Better than giving up that busted open pusspuss for the attention and gratification you want amirite?
>>9243588
I don't even know what you are trying to say here
I couldn't give a single fuck about your addiction to food pics, fatty, but the pic in your post looks dank as fuck. Is it just a frittata covered in salsa or something more?
>tfw I just made wings for the first time
>holy shit it's easy as fuck
How do you make your wings?
>>9243510
I'd like to know what you did.
>>9243510
Deep fry until slightly overcooked and crispy, add butter to cayenne pepper sauce, toss crispy fried wings in the sauce.
>>9243517
I coat lightly in corn starch, salt and pepper, then fry in a wok, and then coat in my hot sauce butter mix. The corn starch makes it crispy as fuck
I gained a bit of weight in the last 2 months and I need to drop about 20lbs by November. I started a cardio routine last week but this week need to find a diet that works.
What are some legitimately good diets for weight loss?
>rainbow diet
>59 fucking calories a day
>having a fast day when you eat that little
Good god
>>What are some legitimately good diets for weight loss?
Eat less food and get more exercise.
Eat twice as many vegetables as normal and half as many things that are not vegetables.
have any of you ever tried reviewing food?

How the fuck do you prepare food on a gas powered plate?
Dad recently bought something similar to pic related and we use it on family bbqs. The thing is a nightmare to bbq on since food sticks to it and charres in an instant while remaining raw on the inside. I really miss the old coal powered grill.
>>9243181
1) Turn the heat down you ponce.
2) Don't try to flip the food too soon.
>>The thing is a nightmare to bbq...
Of course it is. It has nothing whatsoever to do with BBQ. It's a fucking griddle. A flat-top. It's for pan-frying, not fucking smoking meat over a period of many hours. Use it for the same kind of things you'd cook in a frying pan--bacon, eggs, pancakes, etc--not for fucking BBQ.
>>9243181
Get creative dude, make things that are outside foods but aren't actually BBQ. Make stuff meant for a griddle/hot plate? Think street foods and have fun with it.
Get a nice long handled spatula or two, and start pretending you work at a fair, or a sub shop or kebab place. Philly cheesesteak subs, grilled sausages with caramelized peppers and onions, blackened chicken, blackened fish, shrimp, slicing up a loaf of gyro meatloaf you made, and grilling up the slices to order. Season up hamburgers in ways that would have fallen through the grill previously, fold into meat bits of bacon/cheddar, blue cheese, or make turkey burgers with greek flavors, loads of feta that would have stuck to an ordinary grill but will get bubbly and browned now. If you want smoke now, you will need to incorporate smoky bacon, smoked meats, smoky sauces, and thats okay! Can you cook bacon over coals, well, you can now! And, you let that grease flavor up some potato slabs, maybe make some cornmeal and corn griddle cakes to go with your kielbasa, or get some peirogies golden brown with your smoked sausage. All those fancy sausages in the 4 packs, you can now make them, garlic butter griddle some buns, and make your sides at the same time. Cook raw pita dough, warm up tortillas and taco meats like on a comal.
Endless asian options. From okonomiyaki to little skewers of thai satay to yogurt marinated tandoori meats, to filet mignon wrapped negamaki asparagus.
Stop bitching and do something new. Id start with venezuelan sausage and homemade arepas with queso.
>>9243216
BBQ means grilling outside to pretty much everyone in the world outside of a few southern states in the US. You understood him and are just being obtuse
>tfw drinking a gallon of soda a day
Anyone here manage to stop overeating?
Yeah just stop buying it
Why are poors so stupid?
>>9243077
