I fucking love the fatty, oversauced msg-covered chicken in Chinese takeout orders. What weakness foods does /ck/ have?
>>7059246
alternatively these, pepperoni flavor
Only eat it on rare occasions.
None because I'm not a fat American piece of shit with no self control
I couldn't tell if the bao bun on and j was a shitpost but I made it anyway (pic related) and will prolly substitute the normal bread with them more often if I have leftover buns from making meals.
That looks amazing
that looks like raw dough.

I can't lie to you m8, it was at least above average in terms of my PB&J history.
anyone ever made this successfully? I kind of followed a recipe, and I couldn't get it to set for the life of me. What makes it set? The pectin in the quince itself?
I'll ask the durka durka sand moolie who works for me how she makes it. It'll take me at least overnight to get back to you, though.
>>7059242
I'd appreciate it.
I flipped the whole thing and put it back in the oven.
>>7059085
>What makes it set? The pectin in the quince itself?
According to the recipes I've read yes. But it takes a long time to cook... like upwards of 8 hours.
Ok guys, it's getting close to thanksgiving, and I have no clue what to make for a pie. I was thinking about my go to pumpkin cheesecake, but I'm getting bored of that.
What are you guys going to make, and what are your crust/pie recipes?
Do you guys use butter, or lard in your crust? ( Or both )
Tl;dr pie general
Chocolate chess pie with whipped cream
Peaches and cream pie
Chocolate pecan
Berry mix
I use butter if im making a fresh/same day pie and lard if im going to make a larger batch of dough to freeze.
>>7059002
Steak and ale pie is best pie.
Anyone here ever made or tried memefuku crack pie?
Yay or nay?
>>7058981
Nay
Of course. If not, it's just a stew
Great and original thread, OP.
Beans in chili is a personal preference, but at least 90% of America prefers beans.
Low on food so I just ate half a can of Old El Paso refried beans, 2 veggie dogs, and 2 vegan sausage pattys (leftover from when my vegan sister visited). Tonight could be the gasiest night ever. I love a good fart session. What foods do you eat that give you gas? I remember apple juice used to make a friend of mine practically explode out of his bunghole.
Pic very related
>drink glass of milk
>drink can of soda immediately after
>chase soda with bud light
>wait one hour

Beans
Undercooked peas
Ice cream and beer

Haha you have a specific strategy for holocaust farts, eh? I like that.
The farts are starting.... in about an hour, these things will be epic.
What would happen if you ate 4 dozen eggs every morning to help you get large?
>>7058900
In all seriousness you'd probably die due to cholesterol.
>>7058900
You'll get large. Though the evil egg industry will be in charge.

>still believing this in current year
Anyone else a fan? I've been getting tired of just drinking coffee in the morning so here's my new routine.
In a small saucepan:
>Add enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan and heat over medium temperature - I have enjoyed both unsalted butter and coconut oil.
>Add 4 crushed cardamon pods, cinnamon, nutmeg, and two halved habaneros. Cook until lightly toasted and aromatic (~1min)
>Add 1 cup water or milk and simmer over medium-low heat for 10min
In a medium saucepan a the same time:
>Heat oil over medium-high heat
>Add about 1/4 bar pure dark chocolate that has been finely grated or broken up
>Reduce heat to lowest setting and melt
>Add 1 cup strong coffee and stir until combined
>Pour contents of small saucepan into the chocolate pan through a strainer
>Whisk to combine then enjoy hot or cold
Thoughts?
Personally, I would love to see a drink available in stores that is 1/2 cold brew and 1/2 xocolatl.
I've also heard about people using corn starch as a thickener, but I haven't really tried that yet.
this sounds like a gteat idea for the weekend but holy fuck who can be bothered on weekdays
>>7058912
That's what I was thinking. Sounds really delicious for an occasional treat, but seems like way too much for an every day pick me up like coffee.
>>7058912
>>7058918
Ehh fair enough. I usually have these on the back burner while my oatmeal cooks. Once I get the routine down, it takes me around 20 min to make breakfast then 30 min to eat and watch an ep of something before I go to class/work.
In a rush I usually just use a few dashes of cayenne instead of whole peppers. Cuts down on prep by a lot.
Let's get a weird family holiday meal traditions thread going. Before I got to college, I didn't realize that my family was the only one to honor Saint Daniel at our holiday meals with a "Daniels Plate". We basically set a place at the table and fill a plate high with food that is only for Saint Daniel to eat. We keep it there overnight.
What are your unique meal traditions like the Daniel Plate?
Brayden's Post.
>>7058886
So, like, when Dan the man inevitably doesn't eat it do you just bin a whole plate of food?
Canned cranberry sauce. Like we make all the other food from scratch but always buy the canned cranberry sauce.
>>7058886
We eat piss eggs in China.
Let's play a game /ck/: I'm going to post a food, and you reply with a good dish that goes with it, so on and so forth. Try not to repeat other posts.

It's not right. Tomato and white meat is like coffee and asparagus
so i just started working at steak and shit because i hated my last job. i work 8-10 hours a day. never get my lunch break, and anytime i ask for a 5 minute break to check on the girly and baby i get asked "you want to check on your baby , or have a job?" is this legal?
>>7058629
Get a job at Mooby's, better management.
More entertaining environment to work in.
What state? Are you a dumbshit and asking for a break in the middle of a prep rush or service slam? Are you asking for five minute breaks 20 times in those 8-10 hour shifts? Welcome to food service, bitch. Most of us don't take breaks and work ten hour shifts six days a week on average. You sound like server material.
>>7058645
just because you've been doing it your whole life doesn't mean you shouldn't get something better
What's your all time favorite non alcoholic beverage?

So I've been reading about this dish called American Chop Suey / American Goulash.
Apparently it's elbow mac with tomato sauce, ground beef, onions, peppers, garlic, etc. There's no single recipe; I even saw one on Serious Eats that included Worcestershire sauce.
The funny thing is that I make elbow mac plus tomato sauce and ground beef all the time - it's quick to make, easy to eat, and reasonably nutritious. Seems I was making this "American Chop Suey" without realizing it.
Ever had it?
Its just chili mac
>>7058555
No, there's no chili in it.
My nana always made it. It was more like vegetable soup without the soup. Beef, tomatoes, and any kind of canned vegetable she had in her pantry added to pasta.
What are the most embarrassing memories you guys have of cooking food? Either for yourself or for others
>Started learning to cook while I was in University
>Had a crush on a girl I beta orbited
>Offered to cook dinner for her one day while she studied
>She accepted
>Pretty sure she didn't like me but she wanted to have a free meal
>She comes over, starts studying
>I go into the kitchen and cook for her
>Make Chicken Chow Mein
>She compliments me on the smell
>I try to make her laugh by complimenting her on her smell, she doesn't laugh
>When the food is done I throw in some pictures of Rebecca Black, Scumbag Steve, and Nyan Cat
>Present the dish to her
>''Its done! I made chicken chow meme!''
>put it down in front of her
>she scoops up one of the nyan cat pictures and looks at me confused
>tells me she can't eat it
>I apologise and buy her food from a takeaway, wasted all that food for nothing
>we eat the takeaway in silence and she leaves straight after
Still can't make Chinese food without remembering this shit.
>>7058514
''Its done! I made chicken chow meme!''
God damn man that hurt me from here.
>When the food is done I throw in some pictures of Rebecca Black, Scumbag Steve, and Nyan Cat
you had pictures of maymays lying around to throw in?
what the hell where you thinking?
>>7058514
It always boggles my mind that people come up with this shit, let alone think using it is a good idea.
