Is there a reason why people insist on using chopsticks when cutlery does the same job better other than tradition?
>>7117228
Some asian foods are easier to eat with chopsticks, just the way it is slice up and shit. Use whatever you find easier for the meal at hand. Anything else is being pretentious.
>>7117228
Chopsticks are cutlery you caucasoid.
>>7117228
I eat my honey nut cheerios with chop sticks. It impresses the oriental chicks.

What do you think of this dinner, /ck/?
I don't get it. Where is the dinner?
>>7117116
sauce looks too watery, thought it's just a picture.
>>7117116
>frozen tortellini with shitty jarred sauce, no parmesan or romano on top
Cheap and boring/10
Due to health, I have had to cut back on my fat intake.
What are some fun salad ideas?
The more homemade the better.
>>7117048
Dice tomatoes, cucumbers, and onion. Toss with olive oil and some lemon juice, salt and any green herbs of your choice for taste.
>>7117055
I am trying to stay seasonal, and get inspired. Your salad sounds great but... c grade.
Inspire me.
>>7117048
Honestly? Whatever you're in the mood for, so long as you know that majority of the salad is to get your servings or vegetables.
So kale, non-iceberg lettuce, and baby spinach are a good start. Iceberg lettuce has really no nutritional value. you could add some fruit, like strawberry, apple, dried cranberries but gauging on your situation, I'm going to hazard a guess that you're also curbing your sugar intake, so be mindful on how much sweet fruit you're adding.
A small crumbling of feta or fresh mozzarella won't hurt, plus added protein.
Sprinkle in some chopped nuts or sunflower seeds, then finish off with a dressing you like. I like taking a few tart raspberries blending to a pulp, and combining it with EV olive oil for a simple homemade vinegarette.
Sky's the limit.
What's the best way to cook a goose? I don't have any food, so I walked to the park and shot a goose with a pellet gun, but now I don't know what to do with it.
field dress
pluck
carve
roast
but it sounds like you didn't even do the first step so now you have a rotting bird

You've got a lot of fat and slow twitch muscle in there. If you've cooked duck before, handle it like that. If you need a brief primer: treat the breasts like you would a steak. They're fine to cook bloody and they'll like a pan sauce, something tangy made with citrus or wine, or you can cure them and end up with something remarkably like country ham. The legs will take well to slow roasting or to confit. The meat shreds well after cooking like that and you can stretch it by using it in hash or treating it like carnitas.

>geese mate for life, you just made another goose a foreveralone
>illegal to kill
Have ye no morals?
On this week's cook-along :
>Pumpkin and Cranberry muffins
>Salted caramel popcorn with candied peanuts
Probably too late for most of the Americans on /ck/. But there's always next year!
>>7116851
First, to make a pumpkin cake, once required a baking pumpkin and a pinch of salt.
>>7116875
2. Remove the stem of the pumpkin and cut in half.
>>7116881
3. Scrape out the seeds and strings.
Sprinkle a pinch of salt on both sides then put face down on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Cook in a 400F oven for 40-45 minutes until very soft.
I posted a survey to /ck/ a few days ago, to find your guys' favourite 3-topping combination. According to the spreadsheet, the top combination is:
>anchovies, bacon, jalapenos
Do you agree with this? Also, fuck you /ck/
I never answered this poll
Your poll unfortunately was infiltrated with memes and shitposting.
>>7116813
No, you can just take 3 good toppings, combine them, and expect good food
I'm already tired if turkey, so I fed the leftovers to the dogs.
Poultry is awesome though, so I made some Cajun spiced chicken nuggets.
I'm going to eat some fries with it.
What are you eating tonight /ck/?
>>7116797
>I'm already tired if turkey, so I fed the leftovers to the dogs.
Why didn't you make turkey and sausage gumbo with it?
>>7116833
I don't want to eat the left over turkey. That's why I fed it to my animals.
What's for dinner /ck/?
Homemade cabbage soup here.
>>7116755
Looks pretty good. What the fuck did you put in it, bitch?
>>7116759
garlic, onion, carrots, celery, diced tomatoes, cabbage, chicken broth, basil, oregano, rosemary, marjoram, cayenne pepper and a splash of white vinegar.
>>7116755
that literally looks like the dump I take after eating cabbage
You might like this /ck/. There's a series on at the moment that has Ainsley "the oil gargoyle" Harriott taking his mate around who has never eaten anything more adventurous than meat and two veg. He's never even had pasta.
I don't know how Len Goodman got to his age without even one trying a curry, but it's mainly worth it for Ainsley's antics.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7s1SwTwz05g
I want to give ainsley harriott's meat a good ol' rub
I sort of think he's putting it on. I mean, he enjoys basically everything he tries, even chilli oil, which you'd expect would be offputting to someone who's never had any spice.
Those dumplings are fucking mental though, I can barely fold a tortellini.
>>7116783
Yup. It's multicult propaganda.
Fuck I failed my ServSafe test/course
>>7116663
Git gud and try again, fag.
>>7116663
How?
>>7116666
2nd time failing, it was a totally different test too
Why is this considered food?
>>7116662
maybe because you can fucking eat it?
>>7116758
Ok smartass
Because it's delicious.
Are Mexicans the best chefs? No matter what type of restaurant I go to Italian etc...I always see Mexican chefs in the kitchen
>import 50,000,000 mexicans
>be surprised when you start seeing them everywhere
>>7116638
yea but they seem to excel in the culinary world
>>7116655
I dunno. That hasn't been my experiences at all. Around here they either work construction or run drugs. All the restaurants I frequent have mostly white and black staff.
Are there any foods worth buying online rather than at the grocery store?
>>7116605
only if your country doesnt sell that food
>>7116605
dog food
>>7116605
Jerky. Specialty items.
how safe exactly is aluminium cookware?
I use them on regular basis
>>7116574
Most restaurants use a whole lot of aluminum cookware.
Of course, we have shitty life spans for having the highest GDP in the world, and the rest of the world uses a lot of aluminum cookware, so eh.
It does give off a lot of black residue.
I generally prefer stainless steel because of that and SS is a little more durable, but SS as thick as aluminum and of a decent quality is more expensive, less conductive, and heavier.
Drun/ck/ ramblings aside, I meant to say that there isn't any info I'm aware of showing that aluminum is worse than steel, iron, clay, whatever... unless you're going for some black market shit which could be 5% lead for all you know.
aluminium good egg no stick
you spelled aluminum wrong
