What do you guys think of the real thinking mans soft drink?

Bottled corona is the true thinking mans drink
Fun fact: ginger beer is actually the oldest soft drink

Too bad Vernors tastes like caca
How many of you grew up with parents cooking shit food? I didn't eat one meal that was actual a proper dinner unless we went out to eat.
Chicken was burned to shit on the grill as the norm. Cheap stakes weren't marinated. I just feel like I missed out on so much good food for 18 years now that I have my own kitchen.
Whenever I visit my parents my dad will insist on cooking and cook something like a pork chop with nothing on it. Literally will just throw a pork chop on the stove until it's not raw.
>>9292923
I'm white and my parents loved me. So sorry, can't relate.
>>9292925
I think my dad burned off his taste buds after decades of smoking. He would overcook a piece of chicken just to an insane degree to the point of being charred and say something like
>wow this chicken tastes great!
It's like something from a bad comedy sketch.
Just saw an ad for these in Australia and it made me remember they're banned in america or something. Are American children really so fat and stupid that these had to be banned? Is it any confectionary with a toy inside it or specifically the kinder surprise? Can you buy kinder surprise in the black market?
>>9292832
>Are American children really so fat and stupid
yes
Are Australians so deprived of originality that they have to steal an American restaurant chain and logo verbatim and give it another name?
>>9292832
It's anything with a toy inside. They banned wonderballs here too.
'Sup, co/ck/s?
I cook dinner for three every night (roommates) and I'm starting to repeat myself a lot. I'm looking for some ideas to add to our dinner rotation.
Dishes I cook often:
>chili w/ rice or cornbread
>creamy chicken soup
>beef stew
>chicken wontons w/ fried rice + veggies
>pasta with turkey meatballs or chicken
>meat loaf, either beef or turkey
>ribs
>breakfast; I.e., eggs, hash browns, grits, bacon, etc.
>chicken cheesy casserole
>London broil
Ideas? Please and thank you. Pic is pasta I made a few weeks ago.

Does anyone else feel a bit sad when meat goes to waste?
I'm by no means a vegan. I love eating meat, and consider it kind of beautiful how different forms of life all transfer energy to one another in a sort of cycle.
Something just irks me about when you get a dipshit like HowToBasic, or even EpicMealTime to some extent, where they just waste tons and tons of meat. It just makes me remember that some poor animal died for no good reason.
I think it is totally possible to respect and appreciate your food source.
Yes, I agree. Don't have much else to say. It's not like you can stop those people from wasting meat. You can just not watch the content and in turn not support it.
Ultimately, we can only be responsible for our own actions and that means individually not wasting it. I know when I butcher my deer every year, I strip the bones clean and saw them up for stocks. I also eat the liver, tongue and heart. Literally the only thing I throw away are the head, hooves hide and intestines.
As much as I'm probably a faggot for this, I agree.

What online sources for recipes does /ck/ use?
Anything specific one should avoid?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDlhpgiTYl4
>>9292476
crepes are pretty straightforward, any recipe you find on google should work if you know what you're doing
avoid putting too much oil in the pan before you put the crepe mixture in, you just need a tiny bit spread on with a paper towel
can't think of anything else to avoid for crepes other than burning them. look up a video tutorial if you don't know what to do

Every time I try to cook Italian food with cream it gets all fucked up and bitty with a bit of a slight sour taste too.

How does /ck/ deal with decision fatigue when it comes to choosing restaurants to go to? I live in bumfuck nowhere Indiana and still can never decide where to eat. This problem is compounded on vacation as between yelp, tripadvisor, etc, it's hard to choose just one place.
Also borscht thread.
I don't go to restaurants, but I experience conflicting decisions when I think about shopping for dinner.
Simple answer is often what I go with. Meaning, whatever is cheapest and quickest to make while still being healthy.
Pretty much just turns out as roasted chicken, potatoes and carrots.
>>9292343
It depends on where you are and what you mean by eat.
If I'm wanting something quick because Im lazy or running errands I'll either look up a local restaurants list on my phone or flyers that I've got in the kitchen. Then I go with whatever sounds best or haven't been to in a long while. If nothing sounds good I wait until I'm hungry enough that I have to make a decision, or just cook something myself.
To keep myself from getting burnt out selection-wise, along with cooking something new each weekend, I take one weekend a month to try out a new restaurant or take a trip to one out of town that I can rarely visit. Later this month I'm taking a trip to a restaurant called Lambert's. Pretty good desu.
What part of Indiana OP? Im an Evansvillefag.
make a shortlist and put it on a wheel of fortune
>Grandparents are coming to town and want to take me out to golden corral
What can I expect, /ck/? I haven't been there in years.
I remember the only good thing being rolls and the dessert bar.
Coincidentally, it was always my grandparents that took me too.

Never understood celebrating gluttony, Americans are the worst offenders. I'm not trying to say "there's nigglets starving in Africa'' because I don't give a shit, but this is just pointless, wasteful and not even entertaining.
I took one, spiciest burger i ever had.
It's free if you can finish it in 30 minutes, if you don't it's like $8 (eastern europe prices, so not as little as it might sound)
you have to sign a warrant saying that the restaurant is not responsible for damages to your health or death
I managed to down the thing and the shits i've been taking for the next 2 days were pure horror
only 13 people have managed to eat the damn thing so far, me being one of them

Hello all,
I'm going to be moving to a university for classes and I have the option to get a meal plan or buy my own food.
I calculated the average meal price I would be getting. Each meal would cost me $11.
I think I can eat way cheaper than that, so I'm opting to buy my own food. What sorts of things should I get? I'm looking for daily meals that are cheap, easy to prepare, and don't require lots of cooking equipment.
OR, for anons who have been to university, am I making a mistake? Is the social element worth the greater cost (aka getting the meals from the cafeteria and meeting people)?
Thanks!

>>9291698
Get a meal plan for your freshman year. You can't put a price on the social aspect of being able to hit the cafeteria with some people after class, or eating with a girl/guy after you "study". Meal plans are a huge ripoff if you only think of food prices, but for everything else there's mastercard. Fucking pissening social interaction.
you definitely need a rice cooker/slow cooker combo machine. can get them on amazon starting around 30 dollars for one that works. good for tenderizing meats of all types. i like to put water in there with various seasonings to flavor the meat while it cooks. in 2-3 hours its very tender and ready to go.
