what is your favorite type of gin?(and why?) and what is your favorite gin drink(also why?)
it should be quite interesting too see your different opinions
I think the only kind of gin I've had is beef eater but its pretty good mixed with tonic.
>>7157346
but I didn't drink gin and tonic that often because I've heard tonic can cause hearing loss due to the quinine or whatever its called in it.
I used to brew beer and mead but in the last month I've lost all my money, friends, and jobs so here's how I'm staying drunk until poverty catches up with me.
1 empty milk carton/carboy/similar container
1 balloon or airlock of some kind
2 cans of pineapple chunks in 100% juice
2.5 cups sugar
2 slices of bread in lieu of yeast
Fill remaining space with water, attach balloon/airlock to the top and shake it up a bit. What yeast is still alive in the sliced bread eats the sugar and produces CO2 and alcohol. You'll know it's working if there are bubbles and your balloon is filling up. Once the bubbles stop after a few days/weeks/whenever, it's done. Cheers.
It's basically prison hooch but it'll keep you drunk if you can keep it down.
Suicide isn't the answer, OP.
are you sure the bread will work? doesn't the heat from baking kill off the yeast?

Is anyone into baking cakes, either for business or pleasure?
I bake for every birthday in my family. I've honed my Cheescake recipe and its requested for 6 out of the 8 birthdays in my inmediate family.
While the CK is good, I'm trying to diversify. This is a cake I baked for my sisters birthday. It was delicious. Sadly I ran out buttercream during frosting and I didn't have time to do a porper second layer, so it looks uneven.
I'm kinda digging the look now though.
Anyhow, post your baking, post recipes, post cake decoration info.
>implying ermine isn't the best buttercream
>>7156955
Without the buttercream cover.
>three chocolate layers
>dulce de leche and cream cheese filling
>vanilla buttercream
>>7156955
I don't like icing/buttercream/frosting or what ever you call it.
So most of my cakes tend to be very simple but tasty cakes without much added to it.
Pic related being a recent exception and was my brother's bday request... spiced layer cake with a goat cheese frosting and spiced caramel drizzle.
Not as pretty as I could have made it, but it was very good.

>>dulce de leche and cream cheese filling
that sounds kickass anon
How do i stop eating the mememacronutrient - carbs?
no need to stop -- just try to reset your sense of portion control.
>>7156847
by eating it. I don't get why people get so assblasted about carbs. they don't make you fat or cause diabeetus. the beetus is just caused by oxidative stress that obese people experience. you could live off of sugar, be a normal weight, and not get the beetus. If you're a semi active person, excess carbs don't get stored as fat. They get stored as glycogen in your cells to be used as energy later when you work out. Carbs aren't the meme boogeyman that the internet makes them out to be.

What's the best way to grate carrots?
I love carrot cake but I fucking hate grating carrots. I don't actually own a box grater, just a panel grater and a microplane, and it takes an arduous eternity with either.
What's the best tool for the job?
>>7156141
food processor
Mandolin with grater attachment.
you know, you could just puree the carrots in a blender.
here's a cake that was made with carrot puree. a little different flavor and texture, but it works, and it's still good.

e. coli costs extra, is that okay?
Budget burgers:
$0 - $4
Low mid decent burgers:
$4 - $8
""""""Gourmet"""""" burgers:
$8 - $15
Held together with a stick burgers and utter shit but morons keep buying them:
$15+
debate me
>debate me
I don't think there's really anything controversial about your pricing, given a dollar here or there depending on where you live.

Best burger I've even had was $16. No stick required, because after being perfectly grilled it was wrapped in dough and deep fried.

How the fuck do I grind hamburger meat finely and quickly? I get hamburg from a local farmer and when i cook it it cooks into large clumps. My family likes having the meat ground up fairly fine, but it takes fucking forever because I use a potato masher. Anyone have a tool or know a better way?
Get a meat grinder
>>7155835
how do you cook it?
Food processor might help if you don't want to get a grinder. Just blitz it in small batches
I really hate peeling potatoes. I've got some good peelers and tried a few tricks, but it always remains a tedious job. Tricks like pulling off the peel after cooking doesn't work well with starchy potatoes (I make mashed potatoes quite often).
Does anyone have experience with a simple potato peeler like in this picture? Is it worth it? Or is cleaning it about as much work as manual peeling would've been, f.e.. I've worked with a huge professional one before, but I doubt it compares.
>>7155824
Potato skin tastes good though!
Fuck peeling!
>>7155831
That's true for some potatoes, but the ones I use for mashed potatoes often have a thick skin that doesn't taste so nice and gets stuck in your teeth.
>>7155831
I'm in this camp. Haven't peeled a potato in years.

>>7155802
How can I actually kiss my mother with the brain, fag?
>>7155804
it's simple, you serenade her with your intellect.
though, upon further thought on the matter I don't see where I should have assumed you'd know that considering you're unintelligent enough to generalize an entire population into a set of foodstuffs. I apopo for thatha.
why is everyone a fag to you? do you want to talk about it?
