At least they eat real food... Americans eat literally garbage and byproducts.

Because food conglomerates are allowed to mislabel food and anyone who calls attention to this fact is derided as an "orthorexic" who hates America

>tfw you're dining with your parents and your dad grabs a bus boy and tells him he's ready to order

Embarrassing restaurant stories thread

My dad would do shit like that all the time growing up.

Granted, it wasn't until years later that I realized he'd smoke a bowl right before we'd go out to eat, and usually have a beer or two.

It's embarrassing, but anyone working FoH will know which server is in charge of that table and should easily be able to let them know.

Yeah, it kinda sucks, but that's the service industry.

How are you staying healthy, /ck/? It really isn't that hard, is cheaper and makes everything 100x better.

This man never stops pissing me the fuck off. It's like he intentionally acts like a stupid fucking stereotypical cu/ck/ american to get views and it's fucking working. The only thing that tells me that this guy is for real is the fact that his youngest son is as fucking stupid as he is and his wife is a retarded hamplanet aswell.

It's almost 2016, why does Jamie Oliver still think this shit is okay? I mean he carved out a name for himself as the health cook and we know now that olive oil isn't especially healthy compared with other cooking oils.

So fucking what?
The guy is a classically trained Italian chef, of course he's going to use olive oil.
>>
>>7161978
As a celebrity chef, what has he done to counter the myth that it's okay to eat a lot of olive oil because it's "healthy"? Nothing that I've heard of, he's teaching people recipes to be used at home, they don't need to use as much olive oil as in a restaurant dish. There's 120 calories in every spoonful and he just pours it like it's no problem.
>>
He uses olive oil in Thai green curry, ffs.

I've never seen it. Let me see if I can guess...

1. Big BOOMING music that's louder than everything else.
2. Seriously fucked up editing where entire conversations or sentences have been chopped & changed to make it look like somebody said or did something that never happened.
3. Related to #2, an edit that shows someone being shouted out, but it later turns out they weren't being shouted at.
4. 2 second shots of any actual food or cooking, 30 second shots of people's faces.
5. Stupid voice over.
6. Fake drama. May include the line "Elimination decisions may be made in conjunction with the producers" right at the end, in tiny type.
7. At least one person who doesn't belong in a kitchen and is clearly in over their head. May be flat out dangerous. Just their for comedy value and leaves the competition early.
8. Continuous recaps of what just happened in the last 10 minutes in case you have the memory of a goldfish. Always with lots of bad edits and BOOMING MUSIC.

Am I right?

Hey m8s, aussie friend here. I'm thinking I would get some Indian tonight, I normally just get some glorious butter chicken and a garlic naan. But maybe I could try something different. I don't like spicy meals at all, I get it mild. What do you think I should try, /ck/? I fucking love butter chicken.

Salad dressing is the reason we eat salad. Don't deny it.

Trouble is, most is either oily or full of fat (milk). I've heard that processed nuts can work, but I've not tried it myself.

How can a tasty creamy salad dressing be made without oil or cream? Do you have any recipes?

I prefer the creamy roasted garlic salad dressing from souplantation, ideally a dressing similar to that would be best.

because you're eating a bowl of vegetables with 0% fat... tasty food is always in balance with fat and lean, sweet/sour/bitter/salty/UMAMISAVORY, soft and crunchy, etc.

>Salad dressing is the reason we eat salad. Don't deny it.

Nope.

I dress my salad with olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper.

Try again, fattie.

after seeing some anon on /ck/ say it was good, and being there anyways to get a birthday cake for my mother. I had two slices of whole foods' pepperoni pizza for lunch.

it was like a slightly better sbarro. yet entirely way too greasy and the crust had way too many thin spots.

$3.50 a slice or two for $6.

I could have gone to the non chain pizza place a few miles away and had two better slices of pepperoni and a drink for $7.

ITT: things you do because your grandparents did it.
