Ribs smoked for 6 hours today using the 3-2-1 method. Rubbed in some KC style sweet/hot rub. 3 hours smoke on weber kettle, 2 hours wrapped in foil with a little butter and brown sugar, 1 hour back on without the foil and last 20 minutes baste in bbq sauce. more pics to come

Been having health problems as of late and don't want cancer, so I'm gonna pretty much cut processed meat out of my diet. Problem is, I don't know what to put in my breakfast omelette now.
What healthy meat do you suggest in an omelette? Never really thought chicken breast combined well with eggs...

Let's talk about meat pies, as I'm going to make one tonight. I'm going with frozen pie crust, so that's not the concern. I'm planning on doing 1lb beef, 1lb pork, and an onion. I'm worried the filling will come out 'thin' though, like where it would fall out of the crust. Should I thicken it with a roux or an egg? What else can I add to my pie?

If you want to thicken up a meat pie add potatoes. Mashed or grated will do. Keep adding it to the hot meat mixture until it's still just a little bit runny and it should be fine after you take the pie out.

When's the last time you ate a grapefruit?
I just had one for the first time in probably more than a decade, and it was delicious.
We used to have them in the house all the time growing up, back when people thought they were some kind of diet food (and then dumped half a dozen spoons of sugar on top). I always see them in the grocery store, but it doesn't seem like anyone actually eats them anymore.
No need for sugar or extra toppings; they're like a cheap, bastard younger brother to the blood orange.
