Besides their very expensive meat, what do you like to buy at Costco? I'm talking like the cool packaged foods they have and shit like that
>>7202051
I've heard good things about Costco's alcohol offerings, but the only things I've ever bought there (family member has a membership) have been big sacks of flour for baking bread, and spinach. Otherwise their prices/offerings seem to be pretty much the same as what I can find at other grocery stores.
Pretty much only these. I got a freezer full of them. Then I buy canned diced tomatoes to make a sauce with and I'm set.
>expensive meat
What kind of meat faggot, because that's the cheapest place to buy chicken thighs.
Jesus christ my dick aches just thinking about those thighs and the money they save me.
>recipe says to add a dash

Don't fuck around I can and WILL fuck this up
What are your favorite brands of tomato soup? Specifically when it comes to pairing with a grilled cheese.
This is also an invitation to rage about how tomato soup sucks with grilled cheese, since I'm sure you're out there.
>>7196354
just dropping by to say that anyone who doesn't like tomato soup with grilled cheese needs to literally consider suicide
>>7196354
Do you dunk, OP?
I don't dunk.
I tried Chef John's tomato bisque. It's quite good.
Otherwise anything but Aylmer. That brand sucks.
>>7196367
I dunk. Not every bite, mind you. It's good to have a few tastes of the sandwich to appreciate how it stands on its own. But it's worth a Janelli.
>"Why are breakfast foods breakfast foods?" I asked them. "Like, why don't we have curry for breakfast food?"
>"Thomas, eat."
>"But why?" I asked. "I mean, seriously: How did scrambled eggs get stuck in with breakfast exclusivity? You can put bacon on a sandwich without anyone freaking out. But the moment your sandwich has an eggs, boom, it's a breakfast sandwich."
>Dad answered with his mouth full. "When you come back, we'll have breakfast for dinner. Deal?"
>"I don't want to have 'breakfast for dinner,'" I answered, crossing knife and fork over my mostly full plate. "I want to have scrambled eggs for dinner without this ridiculous construction that scrambled eggs-inclusive meal is breakfast even when it occurs at dinnertime."
>"You've gotta pick your battles in this world, Thomas," my mom said. "But if this is the issue you want to champion, we stand behind you."
>"Quite a bit behind you," my dad added, and Mom laughed.
>Anyway, I knew it was stupid, but I felt kind of bad for scrambled eggs.
This nonsense belongs in /lit/

>>"Quite a bit behind you," my dad added, and Mom laughed.
lel
Because farmers used to collect eggs from their chickens first thing in the morning and then cook them up for breakfast.
What /ck/-related gifts did you receive today?
I didn't get any gifts, not even ck related

What are some foods to get at a dollar store? Obviously not meat and produce. I'm thinking things like dry foods and stuff to save time and money. Are things there like rice, beans, cereal, flour, sugar, spices etc truly awful?
>>7204692
Dollar store or dollar general? I like those fast bites at dollar general.
eh we got some canned stuff from a big lots that wasn't too bad.

You like cold brew coffee, /ck/? I got one of these pitchers as a Christmas gift and it actually makes a pretty smooth, strong cup. I tried making cold brew with my French press before and it didn't turn out nearly as well.
Oh, and coffee thread I guess.
yeah those are p great - my favorite coffees to use are usually really fruity/bright coffees, i also usually grind just as fine as i would for a v60 cause fuck coarse grind - but anyway what i do when i make it now is coldbrew in a 2nd vessel like my french press carafe (~18-36hrs depending on how patient im feeling) and then strain through my mizudashi filter into the MD carafe to use for serving, using 2 vessels helps control the amount of sediment you get in the bottom
also it really helps a lot to do a hot 30sec bloom before you dump the rest of your cold water it becomes way more fragrant and flavorful
Nah. Every cold brewed coffee I've ever had, and that's been around a dozen times now, has always tasted sour. On at least one occasion, possibly two or more, it even curdled the milk. And I know it wasn't the milk that went off or anything because I got regular coffee and my ex got cold brew and we both used the same milk from the same vac flask.
If you like it, though, by all means: enjoy it.

pizza without ranch dressing is like dancing without music.
you fold the slice like a taco and fill the crevice with room-temperature ranch.

'The pleasure of being cummed inside.'
So I got one of these for Christmas and I am excited to brew my first batch of beer, has anyone else ever used one of these before? How did it go? How was the beer?
Looks like a Mr. Beer kit, which is what I got one year. Honestly the beer turns out pretty mediocre. Not totally undrinkable, but if you're looking to make quality homebrew, it requires a bit of investing.
They're basically the "painting by numbers" equivalent of homebrewing.
>>7203814
can you brew beer with it without using their ingredient packs?

Yup.
