I order mine well done.

I ask him if there's a problem.

He says in real condescending tone "No problem, well done it is if that's how you really want it".

I wait until we get our meals.

I call over the waiter and tell him I want to speak with the manager.

People in my group tell me to "just let it go". Not a chance.

Manager comes over and I tell him how the waiter was behaving towards me.
I give a subtle remark about how behavior like that is why restaurants get bad online reviews.
Manager apologizes and later comes back and tells us the meals are on the house.

Few minutes later waiter comes around and tries to apologize to me for "any misunderstanding" and I don't even acknowledge his presence.

So it's my birthday today. My town does not have any good restaurants and I don't feel like driving out of town to go to any good ones. I finally settled on Texas Roadhouse.

I need advice /ck/. What should I get? This is one of the few times a year I get to fucking stuff myself like a fat fuck.

What does Texas Roadhouse have that isn't garbage?

So I had Five Guys for the first time.

Their food is good and all and I really liked their choice of music, but man, I don't think I'll be going there again for one simple reason:

The price!!!

Their food is better than McDonald's and all that but...

So I just got hired in a mid level kitchen and today is my first day.

What do I wear /ck/ ?

over the holidays I've been trying to make good macaroni and cheese. I've been using a quick recipe that skips baking it in the oven. also I've had more success just using cream and butter as a base instead of making a bechamel. right now the part I'm stuck on is the taste. using a ton of sharp cheddar increases the salty and savory flavors I want, but it also increases the more overpowering sour fermented flavor. I figure I need to use different cheeses to balance things out. what other cheese is good?

here is the recipe for my latest attempt:

1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons butter
mustard powder
red pepper
black pepper
chicken bouillon powder
worchestershire sauce
4 oz extra sharp cheddar
