I grow most of my herbs in my backyard garden. Spices I get from local Indian and Middle Eastern markets. Day to day herbs out of season I get at the grocery stores near me.
Spices are stored in glass jars in my cupboard.

does anyone else think jap food is severely overrated? they invented the word umami, but their only seasonings are soy and fish stock. they don't traditionally use garlic, peppers, tomato, cheese, meat stock, cumin, coriander or anything with a lot of flavor. the most exciting thing they do with pork is fry it and eat it with plain rice. they way I see it japan is basically england tier but with raw fish instead of fried.

What do you do with your lemons? Are there specific things you use them for, or is it just a generic spice? I squirted half of one into some tacos I made earlier but didn't really notice much of a difference. Lemon with water cured my coke addiction though.

Also I find that whiskey snobs are willing to appreciate almost any type of whiskey if it tastes nice. If a 10 year old whiskey is cheaper and better than an 18 year old, they say that. Price or age not so relevant. Whereas with wine snobs, they will always tell you that cheaper wine tastes like shit and expensive wine tastes nice, regardless of the actual taste.
