This is a follow up to the thread I made the other day about how I've lost a bunch of weight and felt kind of miserable, maybe you remember.
I got a physical like you recommended and it turns out my Vitamin D was extremely low. I'm going to start taking a prescription supplement and including some fortified foods (I haven't been eating any processed foods so I probably haven't been getting it through that and I also work an office job so I'm not in the sun much during the day and now its too cold to really be out with too much skin exposed). Hopefully this info helps anyone else, my anxiety was going through the roof and I was tired a lot so I'm looking forward to going back in six months to see if things have gotten better.
Other than that everything was stellar. Fantastic cholestoral levels.
Good to hear that it was apparently an easy fix.

So what you're saying is that you restricted your diet and ended up malnourished as a result? Wow, that's surprising!
>my friend just put a head and a half of garlic in chicken
>said there wasnt enough for two cloves
well maybe he's concerned about prostate health
I assume he's new to cooking?
>>7258447
yes he has a lover
Today was hot dog day at the office!
I'll start with a pic of the buns. New England style, of course.
Wonderful Hummel Bros. dogs, swaddled in sauerkraut.
The other crockpot full of dogs.
Homemade meat sauce.
How do I integrate vegetables into my diet cu/cks/? So far I've been nuking sweet potatoes and putting mustard on them.
>>7258146
Have you considered cooking and eating vegetables as part of your regular meals?
>>7258150
Go on...
buy frozen veggies that you can nuke in the bag and eat those.
Is it okay to be dirty/lax in your own kitchen? I mean, you're building up your own immune system
Who's going to stop you?
>>7258144
Myself, if I get sick. I was asking more from a safety/sickly standpoint
Your immune system isn't going to get immune to salmonella or e coli. If you want to be a slob and brag that you didn't get sick, it's fine, but don't pretend it's anything better than luck. Most raw food is pretty clean anyway. It's the rare exceptions that make life interesting.
Are the children gone yet? Can we have a vegan thread?
What are you eating? What are you cooking?
Nice bait, try to be a little less obvious
>Vegan Chicken Salad
>>7258126
>he doesn't eat Vegan Chicken
It's like you WANT to get AIDS
I need some help, boys. My mom turned the oven on not knowing that the cast-iron pan was in there, and I'm pretty sure it got burnt. Pic related is what happens when I wipe it down with a paper towel, even after cleaning it with hot water and putting oil on. Am I going to have to strip it and reseason? What do you recommend?
>>7258116
Unless she put the self-clean setting on, it's fine yo. Maybe cook an egg on it, see if it tastes bitter
Use a scrub brush or mildly abrasive scrubber with hot water, maybe a little bit of soap since it looks like it's got a bunch of oily gunk on it. Apply a new coat of seasoning when you're done
>>7258125
Nope, it was just at a high enough heat to cook a frozen pizza.
Is that rust in this picture?
Would you eat a feral cat if it were served to you in a country where this practice is common?
>>7258029
I hate cats, so yes.
Full of parasites.
>>7258029
I'd try it but I doubt it would taste good. There's a reason why people generally don't eat predatory land animals--they tend to have a very strong gamey or "hormonal" sort of flavor since they scent-mark their territory. The glands for that tend to taint the meat.
Why is Eastern Mediterranean food so amazing?
Dolmades, falafel, halloumi, hummous, saganaki, spanakopita, ful medames, tabouleh, plus lots of aubergine and courgette based dishes. So, so good.
I've had your pic related.
It's literally salty sushi.
Felafels are good though.
>>7257834
That's some off my favorite food as well. It makes sense that it would be excellent, because that part of the world has been a crossroads for wealth and culture for a very long time. The east and west met right there. Greek, Turkish and Palestinian (including Lebanese) are all god tier.
>>7257839
I'd imagine they vary from country to country. I've only really had the Greek ones, which are usually very lemon-y. So good.
Does any one else like eating pho? I never go to restaurants and order soup, but this is my favorite dish. Would you try it out?
>>7257796
>salt water
>vegetables
>overcooked meat
>MSG
No thanks, keep your gook food.
Overrated to proportions I can't even fathom
Bun bo hue is way superior if we're just speaking on noodle soup dishes
pho was chosen to be one of 2015's top meme foods, and advanced future memetics metrics are projecting it to keep its meme status for 2016
It's also one of the only foods I can think of that is both a meme food, and is also fedora tier.
For these reasons, and these reasons alone I stay away from it
dear /ck/,
today someone died. I need some really, really depressing cooking videos to cheer me up.
the only channel I have thoroughly enjoyed and learned to love is "Henry's Kitchen".
is there anything like it? I know about most /ck/ memes lke ulililila, ja/ck/ etc.
something truly depressing, that is what I strive for.
don't mind if it has 10 views, just give me some good shit.
>>7257753
Dear Op,
Lots of people die, regularly in fact.
Signed,
Anon
David Bowie died for this blog post. He died because of you
>>7257773
But Bowie was better than most people will ever be
Why do they call it black forest ham?
Does the ham come from pigs found and slaughtered in the black forest of Germany?
They call it that because of Google.com you fucking retard
>>7257723
I want to eat that meal as is. No fancy sides, no gimmicky appetizers.
Straight meat, bread loaf and grapes. I love doing that every so often and feeling like a fucking king
>>7257723
I actually know this because I saw a documentary on it recently. Also I'm German.
So this is how it works:
What it used to mean is that the ham was produced in the Schwarzwald. The pigs were from there, it was made there and it was sold there.
Nowadays it is very different. Regulations are still strict so companies are finding ways around it.
This might sound insane, but you can literally buy fucking smoke from Schwarzwald wood (no joke), use it to smoke your ham (in the US, for example) and certify it as Schwarzwald Schinken.
That's how far we've come. People love names and "authenticity".
There you have it.
Absolutely no connection to the actual Black Forest aside form some arbitrary smoke.
What are you supposed to drink in fancy restaurants if you don't like wine? Is drinking just water frowned upon?
If you don't approve of someone else drinking water you should leap
>>7257680
Drinking water is not frowned upon. If still seems too unceremonious for an upscale place order sparkling.
Whatever the fuck you want
However if you don't like wine you have picky eater syndrome and are the kind of person who would turn down a perfectly good dish because you're "allergic" to onions or whatever. Thus there's no reason to go to a nice restaurant.
Why are food so cheap at 99 cent stores? What's the catch?
>>7257652
None of it is fresh. It's all the kind of food that can sit in warehouses for years, and when it doesn't sell for what the manufacturer had hoped it ends up on the shelves of 99 cent stores.
>>7257656
>hasn't shopped cheap
it's really more the lack of brand naming, you'd be surprised how much a brand name raises the cost of what you buy.
>>7257652
The catch is it literally reduces the length of your life by years, weakens your immune system, and just generally makes you feel like shit.
What's your nationality's salad, /ck/?
i wanted to say potato salad at first, but that's not exclusive enough. sausage salad it is
still pretty cute how canadians thing "poutine" is their invention
>>7257865
potato salad is best tho. whenever my mom makes some I literally cannot stop eating until all of it is gone.
