Peas in guac is a fucking game changer. Whatever combinations did you shit on till you actually tried them?

For me
- Srricha on ramen
- French fries with mayo
- Bread crumbs in hamburger
- Liquid smoke on some meats
- Ranch with pizza

The not so good
- Peas in carbonara
- Chicken and waffles
- Peanut butter and banana
- Salt on watermelon/honeydew/cantaloupe

Oh my bolognese sauce isn't a secret, but it's tedious as FUCK.

1. Oil, butter, soften diced carrot, onions, leek, mushrooms and garlic with salt and pepper.
2. Brown a pound of veal, a pound of beef, a pound of pork and 3/4 pound of pancetta.
3. Turn the heat down to medium/medium low, let the water content from the meat cook off, and let the meat cook in its fat. This should take easily half an hour.
4. Deglaze with white wine.
5. Add tomato puree. Let some more liquid cook off on medium.
6. Add milk, and cook that off.
7. Moderate thickness with water, salt/pepper to taste

I guess if I had one it'd be the milk and white wine, most places don't add milk or add red wine instead. And mushrooms, some people will kill me for adding mushrooms to bolognese but it's my goddamn recipe and I likes it with mushrooms so there.

Couldn't find a picuture of the sauce when done but this was after the meat cooked in its own fat for about 40 ish minutes.

Oh wait no had Lambert's catered, got brisket from Franklin's; probably the best bbq you'll ever have, but it's not in the stratosphere or anything

Hey, guys. The inability to make a perfect pancake is killing me. Every time I go to iHop or a pancake house they always serve the pancakes golden brown with no white spots all over. How the fuck do I cook a golden pancake evenly without little or no white spots?
11 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
The first pancake never turns out good.

You have to make a few, OP. You want the pan to be just hot enough where a drop of water sizzles around, and then add a thin layer of fat, and then wipe it off.
>>
>>7259758
Hahaha, they use bisquick, a bit of fat for lube and a griddle. Their pancakes a shit.

You should learn to make a proper buttermilk pancake, anon. You should search for some recipes. Make sure your pan is hot enough and you should flip the thing when little holes start appearing around the edge of the pancake.

impossible. her decor ideas are fine for some folks, but her food sensibilities are shit.
>>
>>7259723
I'm a long time fan of her's. Her recipes are are just rehashes of stuff she learns from other chefs over the decades. I mean they are simplified gourmet recipes for basic bitches. It's decent and above average compared to Rachel Ray. But Martha has nothing on Ina Garten when it comes to good food.

It's chickpeas mashed up with lemon juice, tahini, garlic, olive oil, cumin and salt, or some combination.

Homemade is good for around a week in the refrigerator.

You can add all sorts of other flavors, and add it to all sorts of other things; I often use it as a sandwich spread.

When eaten with pita it forms a complete protein.

Hey fu/ck/tards

What's your opinion on vegetarians and vegans? My lil' sis recently became vegan and I recently just found out a work colleague turned out to be vegetarian.

I gotta cook for these two next Friday and I'm ripping my fucking hair out.

Should I just say fuck it and take them out to eat?

Anyway vegans are cool by me, I like meat but I don't NEED it and in my city there are lots of good vegan and vegetation restos. Helps to have lots of Indians and other Asians around. So I don't feel too inconvenienced by them, like if this was flyover hell

Why do people make a huge fucking deal of the foods and drinks that are least interesting, least distinctive, and easiest to prepare?

Pic related. It's one of the steps in the traditional preparation of Hong Kong-style milk tea: pouring it through a goddamned sock. It's just tea with added milk. How many ways can you fucking add milk to tea? Why do HK milk tea purists exist?

Same idea with Southern-style sweet tea. Why are Southerners so proud of this diabetes water? Do Southerners really believe they are the first culture to think of adding sugar to tea?

It boggles the mind.

no. the toppings and cheese and sauce would fall off. The bread is a strong, stable handle. I get mad enough when I'm at the end of a sandwich and a bite shoots filling out the end, let alone a food that shouldn't be messy like pizza
