hey guys /fit/ here meathead so no bully
when I put a fucking sweet brotato in the microwave it weighed 8.5 ounces before cooking, right?
When I took that shit out it weighed FUCKING 4 OUNCES
what the FUCK happened? Am I eating 8.5 ounces or 4 ounces?
>>9277455
4 ounces. Microwaving it must have removed moisture. Water weight in /fit/ terms
>>9277455
>I have no idea what evaporation is.
figures.
>>9277461
thanks bro
this means markets are ripping us off. They'e selling potatoes at their PRECOOKED WEIGHT. I'm paying extra money for SHIT I DON'T EVEN EAT.
Jews are behind this
Why is my rice always dry, hard and chunky when I cook it in a frying pan? I'm putting enough water to sink a battleship in there. It still tastes like shit.
>>9277380
Why are you cooking rice in a frying pan in the first place?
dunno. try soaking your rice in water for 24 hours in the fridge before frying it.
>>9277380
Heat probably isn't high enough. They always say to put your burner to "low" after bringing it to a boil and covering it, but if I turn the knob to where it actually says "low" it's barely warm. I have to put it on 3 out of 9 to actually keep cooking.
find a flaw

I can't tell what it is mr. Fox
>>9277357
Bad picture.
>>9277357
Poor image quality, bad lighting, flash on and I bet it doesn't taste very good either. Also, it just looks gross af.

Just end my life man. Where else can I go
Steaming has always been one of my favorite ways to cook
>Healthier than baking/frying
>Pretty fast
>Visually impressive
>Can be fun at a dinner party
>Uses no grease to cook (My skin is thankful)
>Lots of variety availiable
My biggest problem with this is that it's time consuming to get the water started and sustained if you're cooking for multiple people, so I have been considering buying a steamer.
I know most of /ck/ is mostly ramen tier food skill but does anyone have any experience with these machines?

Where's a good place to get lobster tails/sfogliatella pastry in philly? I'm visiting for the first time today and they don't make them in my flyover town. Anything else I should try while I'm there?
Anyone know any cheap(er) alternatives to SodaStream Machines? Could I just buy a water carbonator and add concentrate?
Club soda and concentrate
Or just drink water
>>9277052
A soda siphon. Been around for decades.
>>9277052
Seltzer and concentrate works. Better if you make your own flavored syrups or use juice.
>>9277091
These produce an extremely soft carbonation. Much different than bottled soda waters people have grown accustomed to. They're nice to have and show especially if you're into novelty, but economically it's cheaper and easier to buy bottles of seltzer.
Things you have put your McSauce on that made tasty combinations.
BigMac sauce...
>chicken wings
>chocolate cake
>ham sammich
>egg rolls
>doritos
>tandoori chicken

Let's reminisce over comfort food we can't afford anymore, /ck/. I'll start:
>durian is in season
>go to usual hawker; paid $20 usd last year for 2 fruits
>order same thing
>total price this year: $50
mmm durian. when i lived in vietnam i'd slurp that stinky slime straight off the seed
>>9276708
Get a dirty diaper filled with rotten onions.
There, I just saved you $50.
>>9276903
it's an acquired taste, i wouldn't expect a peasant like you to understand
no but seriously though, once you get over the stink (it's not that bad, come on) it's like the musk melon of the gods
Kölsch-style: how American craft brewers tricked you into paying craft prices for Bud Light.
Is this the only cut normalfags know?
>>9276550
As soon as the thermometer reads 120 take it off the heat or you might as well put it in the trash. I can barely stomach medium.
Just tried making ramen for the first time. Didn't have noodles but rice is ok.
Turned out pretty good.
>>9276528
>Didn't have noodles but rice is ok.
>>9276528
That would be ra-gohan then, ramen literally translates to soup noodles
?
