I don't eat their custard, rather DQ than that. Decent pork tenderloin sammich, I've had way better but it's a chain. Chili is good, I think that's seasonal and only in Winter. I don't go much anymore.

Just in case you never looked it up, Iodine deficiency used to be a massive issue in the US because people would eat mostly local crops which might not have had enough Iodine. So they had salt refiners start adding it in as a supplement. That's all, you use it like you would any salt of its grain size. If there is any taste difference it would be greatly overpowered by the, you know, pure salt.

China is unusual in that it has had decades to ejaculate its upper class, and the related culture, into disapora. India and Japan never systematically tore down or purged its intelligentsia so whatever we get, is the same as we get from other countries. Especially with all the action giong on in Hong Kong dining, with Chinese people interacting for generations with whatever whites might pass for Europe's tastemakers, so a random new white guy in a Chinese kitchen isn't really going to be able to bring anything new to the table.

I fucking hate combi-ovens. Every time I've used this bastard it never cooks properly and takes hours longer than normal. I just tried to cook a chicken in there, just a normal roast chicken I've cooked hundreds of times before in normal gas or electric ovens. First time I took it out, it's uncooked. Now it's finally cooked and it's bitter. It literally tastes bitter.
I'm severely tempted to just buy a toaster oven or something I can just have that turns on until you turn it off at a decent temperature.
I thought restaurants use these because they're better than traditional oven?
