why do these pieces of shit even exist? I'm not talking about the gimmick induction stoves, but the kind that has an ordinary heating element under a glass surface.

just think about the layers and layers of stupidity that had to have happened to get these things into people's homes. first some dumb fuck engineer had invent it. then some business man had to think it was a good idea and decide to sell it. then a bunch of marketers had to convince people that it wasn't the stupidest fucking thing you'll ever think you wanted, and finally a bunch of mouthbreathing hydrocephaloids had to actually spend money on them.

I was wondering what the most efficient plant is, that is: Best ratio of water/energy consumption to edible mass, measured in calories.
My first guess was something like an oil palm because, obviously, oil. But the palm is huge and you only harvest the fruit, so I thought maybe some algae or sprouts are more efficient since you eat the whole thing instead?

Sure. It's super easy.
It's your basic chinese stock (unbrowned chicken, leeks, ginger). Add some bits of whatever meat you like, thinly sliced wood ear mushrooms, and thicken with a cornstarch slurry. Adjust seasoning with soy sauce, white pepper, and rice vinegar. Add red pepper if you want it very "hot". Right before serving swirl in some beaten egg.

I made this once while drunk and ate it all. I took a picture of it to have this memory.. I feel disappointed. Sure, it's not THAT bad, but I made too much pasta and half-assed it on the sauce and just randomly threw a big chunk of bread onto the plate.

Rice is my best friend. Also, just being a frugal asshat. Buying whole chickens and boning them out myself can double the meat I'd get for the same price. Also leaves the carcass for stock.
Cheap ass cuts of meat like beef cheeks are important to me, saves money and I can make a mean as casserole.
Horse meat is awesome also. I know a guy that gets me 10 kilo a month. My wife has no idea. She thinks its beef.
Last of all is not buying baby food for my son. I just put aside a cup of whatever we eat and whizz it till it's chunky. Baby food is so goddamn expensive here, and it tastes like a cats asshole.
