original italian carbonara do not include any sort of cream. Its just the raw egg thrown on it at the end which makes it carbonara, also the pan fried pork dices ( you could call it bacon almost ). However, the french put creme fraiche on it, even onions ( pan fried ) and cheese on top of it plus the raw egg and everything, carbonara means to a french guy "put a shitload of stuff on this pasta, i'm hungry af". Americans and brits put shitloads of whip cream on it, and bacon. The pasta swims in cream, the perfect recipy for when you cook drunk and need fat, or for a hangover. So which carbonara are you talking about ?

Pack your meat into a bowl with some shitake mushrooms that have been soaking in water for a couple of hours.

I'm sure 98% of Japan uses a real peeler like the rest of us or some redneck "powerdrill in bucket shit."

The only time I've seen the Japs peel like that is when the purpose is to generate a thin flat sheet of the veggie in order to use it for a wrapping or other part of the dish. In other words, it's when the peeling/cutting is the important part, not the main part of the veg. If it's just peeling potatoes (etc) then they use speed peelers just like anyone else.

They also have a lot of peeling gizmos like the Beringer "turning slicer".
