Glass is neutral, there is nothing it is imparting into what it's holding, nothing noticeable anyways
You're also probably getting more of a smell and therefore more of a taste, it's always nice to actually see what you're drinking too
Bone china is best.

Raw broccoli is better drunk out of a glass of water? OP does your carer know your posting?

Yes.
I wonder if it would still taste chicken-like.

What's the optimal combo of snacks /ck/?
I like to rotate after I get tired of one flavour.
I've got:
Bugles for saltiness
M&M's for chocolate/sweetness
Sour Gummy Worms for sour/candy
Thoughts? Can this be improved?
before everything unhealthy started to make me feel like shite bugles were my jam
>Can this be improved?
Try adding actual food, manchild.

pls
Give me your list of top rums for sipping and top for mixing for $25 or less.
Pic related, good choice for mixin?
Not bad! Also a fan of Smith and Cross myself.
>>7357885
>for $25 or less
To be quite honest family, if you can't afford to drink decent alcohol, you should probably finish school so you can get a real job so you can afford to drink like a human being
>>7357897
If you can't make a decent mixed drink with an under $25 bottle, maybe you should invest in a bartender's college, fucktard.
I have a question about alcohol ettiquete, what occasions are not appropriate for having consumed it?
For example, is it ok to go to the dentist or doctor after you've consumed your alcohol?
>2016
>not driving to the dentist drunk
Amateur
>>7357798
I have to see the dentist tomorrow or the dentistro as i call them
I'm curious because i will be consuming my alcohol and i don't want to leave an awful impression
>>7357814
they'll need to double up on your anesthetics if you have to get any work done.
i drank a ton the night before going to the dentist last year and the novacain wore off halfway through the procedure and they had to stick me a second time.

>Brain Dust, cordyceps, reishi, maca, and Shilajit resin
>three quinton shots for mineralization and two lipospheric vitamin B-complex packets for energy
>a handful of activated cashews
>mint chip hemp milk with double servings of maca and sprouted brown rice protein
>pre-yoga dinner at Shima in Abbot Kinney, which is my 3-year-old's favorite restaurant

sounds like the start of a joe rogan podcast
This reads as a joke

>cordyceps
Fuck no.
I knew those libfags seemed like zombies.
I want a sous vide. What should I look for, before buying one? Should it be a full sous vide cooker, or a submersible and is there a difference in the bags I use or the machines to suck air out of them?
>>7357407
never get a standalone sous vide machine and as far as vacuum packing foodsaver is ok unless you wanna drop bank on the kind that chef steps use.
>>7357407
Don't buy a water oven, buy an immersion circulator. I love my anova precision cooker, but there are plenty of options to choose from.
To be honest, ziploc bags are perfectly fine so long as your temp is below about 180 Fahrenheit. You only really need the sous vide bags when you push into the stuff that requires closer to 194 degrees, like green veg and certain types of infusions.
A vacum sealer is a wonderful tool to have though, and an edge-style foodsaver is just fine for home use. If you have the cash to throw around there's a lot you can do with a chamber sealer, but those'll run you 500$ at the minimum, and it's just not worth the money for home use.
For a better, more in-depth look at packaging check out ChefSteps. In fact, ChefSteps is a great sous vide resource.
>>7357407
Another ANOVA user here, and its definitely the way to go. Can be used in any large pot/container, compact for storage/transport, cheaper, and easier to clean. The ziplock bags, as another user mentioned, are perfectly fine as well, however the cost of a vacuum sealer pays for itself in preserving and storing food. Plus the plastic rolls can be had at most chain stores like target, Walmart, etc.
I can't find a coffee press with a decent filter, french or otherwise
all end up giving me muddy coffee
the only thing that seems to work is paper filters but the aeropress is too fiddly
the metal press/filter doesn't seem to work at all. why do people use them
the only things that work is paper filters, rubber round the edge to form a tight seal or the weird fabric filter thing thats in coffee machines
anyone got a portable one that fricken works
Grind your coffee more coarse.
>>7357249
how about there just being one with smaller holes
i don't carry a grinder round with me. and that would be totally obnoxious
other filters work fine so why can't there be one
>>7357245
I have the metal filter for the aeropress and it's neither fiddly nor muddy.
It's pretty much the best cup of coffee outside of fancy espresso machine coffee at a cafe (if the barista isn't a fuck up idiot that can't pull a good shot).
Also so easy to clean aeropress, fucking hate how tedious the French press is.
Best pizza chain thread?

Is all American cake just a shitload of cream between large pieces of thick sponge? Absolutely no variety.
>>7356803
>American cake
he's greek
The cake on that show sucks, it's impressive from like...a sculpture/art perspective, but what the hell, the cake itself is always unimpressive
It's always just like what looks like your standard yellow cake you can get at the grocery store
>>7356803
no, this guy is a wedding cake vendor, he makes basically only decorative cakes for parties. we have all kinds of cakes. In addition to the old standbys we invented cider cakes, monkeybread, Boston Cream Pie(actually a filled cake), Red Velvet and German Chocolate, bourbon cakes and pecan cakes, cheesecake etc etc
we also invented the Bundt pan and the stand mixer so there you go
Is bottled water for real? Can anyone actually tell the difference?
>>7356631
when you're in china or south america, you can certainly tell the difference between bottled water and poisonous tap water
>>7356631
It really depends on where you are. Tap water is good in some places, not so good in others and downright sketchy elsewhere. I'm drinking tap water right now and consider myself lucky to live in a place where the tap water is good. Not everyone is so lucky.
I live below an old quarry so all of my water tastes like blood (iron), yeah it fucking does.
What discontinued foods would you pay a nut for? We're talking 5x or more the original price.
We can also include out-of-season seasonal foods. Like being able to get Peppermint Oreo's in July.
The Burger King chicken nuggets from like 5 years ago. They were good but they just decided to copy McDonald's nuggets and they're bland as fuck now.
>>7356580
His name is literally on his hat.
>>7356581
Rarely eat fast food although I love it.
I ordered Burger King nuggets and they were so fucking bad I had to go to McDonald's right after to get some proper nugget treatment.
I couldn't just settle that they were bad and move on with my day without doing that.
So I've come to the conclusion that I'm addicted to food. I think about it all the time, I constantly want to eat even if I'm not really hungry, I sometimes go into the kitchen just to look at what's in the fridge or in the cupboards for no reason at all and it's fucking embarrassing. I never looked like pic related but I've been overweight my entire life. This year I'm turning 30 and it's perfect motivation to change my life.
In the last few years I've been trying to work towards becoming healthier. I lost 40lbs. I exercise and I'm on a calorie restricting diet that I follow for the most part. I want to drop about 15-20lbs more to reach a healthy weight for my height but I feel like it will be very difficult as I've been stuck at my current weight for a while now. I'm still addicted to food, I feel like if I change this then the last 15 lbs will be easy to drop. I don't want to be fat any more, I hate the way I look, I've always hated this. Somehow for whatever reason I've been healthy otherwise, no diabetes, no very high cholesterol, heart in good condition, just a fatass.
I'm not a picky eater, I like eating fruits and vegetables, this isn't some "cheesy potatoes erry day" person. I just eat too much. I feel like what's served in most restaurants is good enough for 2 dinners for me but I eat it in one setting and then a few hours later I'm hungry. I eat too fast and beyond my limit.
Even anonymously this is all embarrassing. I'm not some neckbeard, my life is generally normal, I feel like I missed out on some things cause of the weight issue but I'm not some shutin mouthbreather.
What should I do about this? See a psychologist? A hypnotist? Move to a secluded island in the south Pacific and hunt for my food?
tl;dr
Exercise is more important than diet if you wanna think about food less
>>7355798
I did actually a year or two ago. I have 3 people in my family with fucked up thyroids. My aunt once gained weight after only drinking water for a few days as fucked up as that sounds.
Yeah guess what, my thyroid is perfectly fine. Like I said, other than fatass I'm perfectly healthy.
>>7355796
I find this to not be the case. I get hungry after exercising.
Same boat as you anon except I've lost nearly 75 lbs. Just find a hobby to take your mind off it. Those cravings will never go away, they just won't. Practice some self control
Made some sunny up eggs and potato logs. How did I do /ck/?
>>7353213
Too many calories.

Only good if you dipped the tots in the yolks and smothered everything in ketchup.
