i recently moved out of my parents and have found myself running into a problem when grocery shopping:
i can feed myself, and i can do it cheaply. but cannot feed myself cheaply and healthily. i just end up buying ramen and frozen dinners.

how does one do their grocery shopping? are there certain building block ingredients i should get? any tips in general? thanks

Optional vegetables:

This should turn out pretty damn cheap, add spices of choice and then spend whatever is left freely.

Whenever I try to cook my burgers in a cast iron frying pan over the stove, the inside is always raw by the time the outside gets cooked. If I wait until the inside is cooked, the outside is too dry. I'm preheating my pan over a high heat for about 5 minutes, and using about 3 tablespoons of oil. What am I doing wrong?

Either lower the heat, don't make the burgers so thick, or sear them and then stick the pan in the oven to finish cooking.

It's fine for the most part. Don't pull it on a weekend night. Have the courtesy to depart if you see too many groups waiting on tables.

If you become a problem, a manager will politely rush you, and as a last resort ask you to settle up and leave.

It makes cooking look easy, and the recipes are mostly just bread, butter/oil, cheese and meat. People always have those on hand so they'll say "i'll substitute more cheese for less bacon" or something.
I wish more video recipes were quick like this. Gordon Ramsay's are about the right length, 2 minutes, I can pause where I want to and move on when I'm ready.

Sup, guys, I was going through my spices and found this bag that I brought from Israel a couple of years ago. I can't remember what it is and the smel and taste arent familiar, looks like fine greyish powder. Can anyone understand what is written on the bag? It's probably hebrew, but may be arabic.
