I've been making some homemade veggie burgers lately, but they could use a little more seasoning.

I'm currently using salt, pepper, powdered garlic, oregano and cumin for seasoning, but am wondering what [all natural, non-MSG] spices go well in a veggie burger mix?

Who is bragging about $8 buffets?

Lunch can be as low as $5. Of course it's all garbage that rivals the garbage served in schools and jail ...

Anyone else a fan of cheesy vegetables?

Hey guys!

My girlfriend wants me to cook for her on her birthday, and her favorite food is macaroni and cheese.

Anyone have some good recipes?

>>
i have an awesome recipe... you make some macaroni... and then you add a bunch of cheese. pretty simple huh?
>>
Make a roux, add cream and sharp cheddar, add cooked elbow macaroni.

Put into casserole dish, top with more mild cheddar and panko breadcrumbs tossed with melted butter.

Bake at whatever temp you want until it's cooked properly. Golden toasty top, bubbly sides.

Add lots of ketchup and nanners

This is a new anime about snacks.

Why aren't you watching Dagashi Kashi yet? It's very educational and provides a history lessons regarding Japan's most popular and iconic snacks.

Well, Hotaru is rather... distracting. I want to try some Umaibo if I ever get the chance though (no homo).

I thought the umaibo episode was interesting, but I found it annoying that I had no idea what it tasted like or what the texture is like.

Is there any comparison in the west? It seems like it would be like a very very light, sugar-coated donut shaped like a long stick.

I actually bought umaibo because of that episode, I was so intrigued. I got the yakitori flavor, which is kinda sweet. The texture is like a Funyun (I'm just now realizing they're essentially the same thing). They're pretty fun.

I live close to an Asian food market and I never know what stuff to get/is good there. What do you usually buy? Pic unrelated

When I go to one of the Asian markets in my city it's for things like sacks of rice, bok choy and other greens, spices and other ingredients - basically just the handful of things that can't be had fresh and reasonably priced at other stores.

I know there's a huge amount of you out there that drink Olde English 800 & 211. But has anyone had E40? Its "craft malt liqour". For 5 bucks and at 10% it's not too bad. General poorfag beer thread I guess.

Just buy bottom shelf handles of vodka.

It's cheaper, healthier, requires you to drink less of it, and typically tastes better.

If you've payed for their 'premium'; Is it worth it?
5 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>7388128
I picked it up when it was 20$

So far I've done a lot of their advanced sous vide classes, gotten a lot of mileage out of the coffee class as well as their candy class, and once I get my hands on a whipping siphon I'll be working with that as well

If you like the modernist approach and their quality of recepies, and want the scientific background and technical understanding of what's happening, it's worth it

If you just like their recepies then there's really no need

the chef is assuming you are of heightened mind, perhaps through the use of narcotic. the tastes are meant to be extremely marginal and musical in nature, assuming the gourmet can contemplate them. if you are looking for a larded up burger, then you should be eating elsewhere.

not saying a larded up burger isnt delicious, but thats not the purpose of marginal flavor notes

i do believe many chefs abuse the history of their practice though and just see the plate as a visual component. namely because they cannot comprehend the true nature of their craft, and assume their patrons share that lack of depth

Buy a slow cooker ASAP.

Get meat, vegetables, and water / stock. Throw into slow cooker before work. Come home, dinner is ready.

Can you peel and cut a potato? Congrats, you're a passable chef.

>Potatoes
>Carrots
>Celery
>Peas
Cut, peel, wash, whatever you need.
Throw it all in.
>Stewing Beef
>Beef Stock
Throw it in.
>Add water until level with vegetables.
Fucking done. Turn your slow cooker on and fuck off. Come home to delicious beef stew.

You can add seasoning if you want, but you're a young bachelor with no time for bullshit, so forget that nonsense.

Tired of stew?

>Carrots
>Green Beans
>Basmati Rice
Throw it in.
>Chicken Breast
Briefly sear it in frying pan with a dab of butter.
Throw it in.
>Add water until level.
Done. Fuck off to work and return for a nice dish of chicken, rice, and veggies. The chicken comes out so good, looking like pulled pork. I rip it up and spread into the rice/vegetable mix.Shovel that shit into your mouth.

You can make easy chili and other shit this way too. It's easy, cheap as fuck, and probably healthy considering you're eating a shitload of vegetables every day.

Tell me how you'd make a combination dish of manhattan bagels, eggs benedict and belgian waffles.

Be minimalist, like a smoked salmon with black pepper over poached egg between a waffle, with maple syrup and hollandaise sauce. More minimalist than that.

>>7387957
blend all that shit into individual foams, pour into the tiny crevices of the waffles but be sure not to mix races and section each foam off. garnish with microgreens
>>
Those things don't all go together.

I'd do a half bagel eggs Benedict, lox being a good idea, with a quarter waffle on the side topped with berries and fresh whipped cream.
>>
>>7387957
2 different starches? roll the waffle into a layer and fry it into an ice cream cone shape. cut the seasoned crust off the bagel, toast and blend with some salt. place poached egg into waffle cone, top with poppy seed salt. breakfast ice cream cone. you can even put the white bread of the bagel underneath the egg to catch the running yolk for decadent morsels

only if the bake time is very short, such as the case of cookies or muffins.

10-20 minutes.

i don't give a fuck about pre-heating if i'm baking something that'll take 2-3 hours.
