>It's surely nice that we're on another country anon, the culture and the buildings are amazing.
>However, it's time for food, so we'll eat the same fucking shit we eat back at our home country instead of trying the typical country that is here
Anyone else hate this fucking shit?
It's just people playing it safe.
>>7401193
It's like when I'm watching Wheel of Fortune with my grandma, and they win a trip to Hawaii... just to eat a fucking hotel omelette.
>>7401193
God no. Fuck those third worlds and their awful sanitation. Any "authentic" cuisine they have I am 100% certain I can find better right here in the P of C (Provinces of Canada). Made by professionals, with hygiene standards of a first world country. Not Rita the "chef" that makes $2 a day and has no knowledge of microorganisms.
No thanks, I'll eat superior western food (which is why you can find it literally in every country on the planet), until I can get back home and eat their "authentic" cuisine done better by professionals right here in the West.
Sup /ck/, I am looking into DMAE. To say exactly, sourcing from Source Naturals. Any experienced DMAE users? What I should expect? Please include as many valuable info as possible. Appreciate that.
>>7401118
First off, what the fuck is it?
>>7401168
Placebo effect pills. Very popular with lower middle class white males who think it'll make a difference in their boring sterile cubicle life.
>The side effects that have been typically associated with DMAE include gastrointestinal distress, high blood pressure, irritability, confusion, drowsiness, moderate depression, and sometimes a strange body odor. The smell is usually similar to decaying fish and is a by-product of the choline break down.
WHERE DO I SIGN UP???
Hi /ck/. I'm going to a Chinese New Years party tomorrow (yeah I know it's late) and I'm a white dude. I asked the host if I should bring any dishes and she said I could bring an ancestral dish if I wanted to.
I have no clue what the heck that would be, nor what type of ancestral western dishes would fit with the types of foods at CNY. Any recommendations?
>inb4 hamburgers
Ask the host for suggestions.
>>7401015
Not a part of my ancestry (un)fortunately. I'm German-French-Irish although I'd be willing to bend it a little bit to nearby countries.

Is there a temperature-controlled machine that can evenly distribute heat around a pot?
I don't want a slow cooker because those dont seem to be able to reach boiling temperatures, or if they do it's an eternity away.
The intent is to be able to make stews without burning the bottom. Reason I'm asking is because I don't have an oven.
>>7400827
Yes, it's called an oven.
>>7400838
nigga I don't have one
>>7400827
You don't want to literally boil stews and soups for long periods, doing that will make the finished product grainy and cause the ingredients to disintegrate. If you want to speed up cooking of such dishes, use a pressure cooker.
Hey ck, how do you make meringues that taste like store bought? I'm talking specifically about the texture, it's almost like they're more dense or don't have air bubbles that are as big. Like the ones I make at home don't have as much egg white per cookie as the store kind. I've tried a couple recipes, same thing every time. What do?
>>7399990
What kind of meringue?
I think Swiss/Italian will end up more dense than French (I tend to make Italian).
Buy them at the store.

>BUY IT FROM A STORE HUE
well youre no fun.
Is cooking good food in the end just lots of butter + lots of salt for savory dishes and lots of butter + lots of sugar for sweet dishes?
Are you stupid?
>>7399984
yes anon, that is all there is to good food. you are now ready to become a master chef
>>7399984
youre mistaking that for most important components to almost all dishes (apart from main protien in said meals)
What would ya order /ck/?
>Brado's Pizza
>No pizza on the menu

>Brado's Pizza
>no pizza on the menu
Brado's, I...
>>7399043
Why is there no pizza? Why are some foods themed (galaxy and extraterrestrial) and others aren't, especially when the space theme doesn't seem to fit a pizza restaurant with no pizza/sports lounge?
I'll take a honey mustard chicken burger though.
hey
experiment in old school bread right here
100% hard red wheat 6-8 cups
2tsp yeast granules
enough warm water to make it mostly slack
>pic related autolyse in process
gonna let the yeast go all night and come back to it in the morning and start baking.
in the mean time have some porn of my vintage Hobart stand mixer
Genuinely curious on how it will turn out. Keep us posted OP.
I made some fried rice tonight. I live in a college dorm and have to use a community kitchen with very limited space and appliances. Bare with me. Anyway, here it goes. I would love some constructive advice. My fried rice comes out delicious every time but I know there is room for improvement.
cut the chicken
Where's the Siracha nigger?
not sure why that picture wasn't rotated properly
Cook the chicken. I cut the the bigger pieces while it's on the stove while it's cooking to achieve a bite sized chicken. I know this probably isnt a best practice but i can't see why it'd be too bad. When done, set aside.
Has anyone eaten bread fruit? Does it taste like bread?
>>7395005
Not really. It has kind of a neutral flavor, it's starchy kind of like a potato. They're pretty good.
It haw white flesh that when cooked is very dry and bland, is usuallynsered with meat or fish and soaks up gravy lke bread.
I love it, used to have a tree in our backyard till a hurricane killed it. The fruit is very sappy, a white, sticky sap. When you pick it you have to sit it on its head where the stem came out to drain it. Then you peel it and roast on an open fire. Then yu slice it into pegs like an orange and lightly fry and you get its surface to crust like bread.
>>7395005
It's kind of like a mixture of bread and fruit.
Hey co/ck/s,
Looking for a suggestion for getting into tequila, and was hoping you guys had some suggestions. The target price range is €20 - €30.
Maybe something like pic related?
In return I bring you the tip of pic related: Amrut, a really nice drink that got me into whisky for the price of €32
>>7393958
>"whisky"
you have brought the tip of a fedora, good sir! +1
>>7393954
My experience with Quervo has been that it kinda sucks. But I don't know what's available at what price on bongland. Can you get Sauza or Cazadores? Those are the cheaper ones I like the taste of.
