No. Maybe they have really weak immune systems and are being sensible. Giving such people food poisoning on purpose would be the same as murder.
>>
>>7405468

A steak is ruined the moment it's well-done. Objectively shit taste and contrary to what you say, it's irrational and ignorant.

You know that's why Apple calls them Macintoshes, right? This doesn't even count as a pun. Your mother would be so ashamed if she knew what you posted here today.

Is this as delicious as those anime girls want to make me believe? I'd guess japanese mayo is different so maybe with honey?

Subs for the illiterate
>cut the banana in slices
>cut the crust of a piece of bread and roll it out flat
>add the slices of banana and eehh!? m-m-mayonnaise!?
>sprinkle some nuts on top
>fry
6 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Yes japanese mayo is different and I'd imagine it wouldn't be that bad.
>>
mayo, at its core, is just oil and egg emulsified together. same basic makeup as the wet mix in a cake or whatever. commercial mayo is of course seasoned and typically intended for savoury purposes, but in the presence of sweet stuff that seasoning can still be perfectly complimentary.

i think the psychological revulsion at the concept might make the experience worse than it actually would have been if you didn't know there was mayo involved - as is the case with all manner of things.

that said, i'm not particularly into this idea myself
>>
I don't know what Japanese mayonnaise tastes like but banana in squashed, generic white bread sounds bad enough to me.

I'm craving tofu, preferably crispy, but I don't know what to make. What do you suggest? Nothing deep fried, it's too much of a hassle.

Slice thin, marinate, pan fry until crispy.

Any ideas for a good marinade? I'm thinking soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.

Any experience with dulse /ck/? I started buying it a few months ago and it's just great. Perfect balance of salty ocean goodness and it is pretty good for you. It's salty but most of that flavor is potassium and it is a great addition to soups, or you can eat it straight up. It's also amazing with stirfry.

This stuff is awesome, but I last saw it for around $6-$7 a bag, which makes it something that I'll only have very occasionally.

It's kind of like beef jerky in the sense that it packs well, and just the process of eating it can be an interesting way to kill some time while doing something else.
>>
>>7404997
If you can find cheap flank steak and are willing to wait a week, curing your own beef and making jerky is super rewarding. Supermarket stuff is expensive as fuck but I can find flank steak at the butcher's for 8-9$ a pound, tops.

I absolutely loathe onions of any idiom, preparation, type, etc. Vile creations. That sickening moist crunch, and that cloying pungency that never leaves your fucking breath or fingers. I recognize their own culinary significance and use them in my arrabiata but I still think they are fuckin disgusting. How bout you?

I love onions and garlic. I especially like the smell they leave on my fingers after I cut some up. I like to rub it into my beard so I can smell onions and garlic all the time.

!crock pot edition!

College fag here,
I posted a month ago about how I was challenged to only spend 100 dollars a month on food, and I have been trying to eat healthier and cleaner through the process. Canned vegetables and beans are much easier to handle and taste better than frozen things, eggs are a must and prepackaged soups might be a little too expensive for what nutritional value and how filling they are. I bought a crock pot to help make food while I'm doing homework. I'm going to try to incorporate more meats into my diet, and hopefully the crock pot will help with that as well in terms of preparation styles.

Any easy crock pot recipes that you guys use? Maybe something that is cheap going in but can last me a week?

Not a challenge. My roommates and I spend less than 40 a week a piece on groceries, that includes soda, beer, and all of my cheeses. And we're in New York, so you can't say it's regional.
>>
cheap crock pot recipe? get your pen and paper

beans
salt

rice, lentils, pinto. good eating is pretty easy

also, lol at asking for crock pot recipes, but talking about using canned beans. get dry beans. almost literally what a crock pot is for. beans and meats

Checked.

It's actually pretty easy to stay under 100. I used to bang a welfare mom that did it easily. The trick is that you clip coupons, rely on cheap staple ingredients, and minimize meat use. Meat is used more as a flavoring, so cheap high fat ingredients like ham hocks and bacon ends are used primarily. Beans, Rice, Flour, and powdered milk are important ingredients. She always had a sourdough starter to save on yeast packets, and every meal included fresh bread to help fill people up.

The real thing to understand is that with cooking, you can save a lot of money, but it will involve an increase in effort. Pre-packaged anything is taboo if on a budget.

For an example that would work in the crockpot:

Split Pea Soup
1 pound bag of split peas, rinsed.
3 ounces of bacon ends, raw, chopped.
Pepper and Salt.
Add water to cover ingredients by about an inch. (If you have any homemade chicken stock, use this instead. Chicken is always bough whole, and stock is made from every carcass)

Cook for a few hours. when you stir it, it should become a thick paste. That's when it's done.

Serve with fresh sourdough. Total cost for about 8 meals is somewhere around 2 bucks. Cheaper if you buy the peas in bulk. I would suggest ordering them from http://www.webstaurantstore.com/.
You can get 20 lbs for 14 dollars.

Lentil Soup:
1lbs lentils
1 small onion finely diced
pepper
cover with water by about an inch and a half.
Cook for a few hours. When lentils get tender add:
1 carrot finely diced
Salt to taste. (Do not add the salt until lentils are tender, salt makes beans tough while cooking)
