Have any of you used a pressure cooker to cook kindey beans from raw (unsoaked). I read online it takes 25 minutes. I made a chili with the beans in my pressure cooker and had it at pressure for 45 minutes, and they aren't tender yet...

this janitor asshole is getting out of hand. Simply Sara is a fucking cook.

anyway OP are you saying you made chili, added dry beans to it in a pressure cooker and they're not cooked after 45 minutes at 15lbs?

if so a) your cooker is broken or b) you're doing it wrong and c) you're supposed to rehydrate and cook the beans separately from the chili
>>
>>7405353
a) I don't think my cooker is broken. THe pressure thing still seems to be working

b/c) I think it didn't work because I was cooking the beans from raw in the chili itself, with the tomato paste/sauce and other ingredients...

milk is healthy in moderate amounts unless you're lactose intolerant or allergic to casein.

More like fatty sugar-protein water.

you're better off with less or none of it unless you do a lot of physical work every day. Graduate to cheese or yoghurt like an adult.

How did gluten free diets become a fad? Isn't there nothing wrong with it unless you have celiac disease?
165 posts and 19 images submitted.

gluten awareness itself is not a meme. the zealotry of the faddists is
>>
gluten free exists for the same reason scientology is so popular, because belief in it takes away any personal accountability

I'm fat and unhappy because of
>gluten
>carbs
>red meat
>under active thyroid
>GMOs
>thetans

it isn't my fault its all of these BAD THINGS!!!!
anything that allows people to pass the blame and not own up to their poor personal choices

Hey /ck/. I'm heading over to a friend's place tomorrow to do some cooking for him. Long story short I owe him a few favors, and to make it up I'm gonna clean up his kitchen and cook. He likes tacos and wraps quite a lot, so my plan was to do some kind of pulled pork "burrito" style thing, since I'm gonna have access to his place basically all day while he's at work. I don't really know what to pair the meat with to really wow him. So do you have any suggestions to make a really awesome wrap/burrito?

>>
sounds kinky
>>
It depends on the pulled pork, I'll go out on a shank here (lel) and guess it's BBQ Pulled pork? If so:

Cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, paprika dusting (on top if you wanna look fancy). As a side, if you can do home-cooked french fries (with the proper blanching included) that'd be really great! Toss in some more Paprika after they're done for total epicness.
>>
>>7408602
Sadly I live in sweden, which makes a lot of classic american bits and bobs a bit hard to get hold of. For example, it's impossible to get hold of good cheddar without paying an arm and a leg for it.

Doing fries as a side sounds like a great idea, although I think potato wedges might make my life easier. Could skim some fat off from the pork and rub that all over them along with some olive oil and thyme.

Has there been a new Starbucks rewards thread yet? This really bones people like me who usually only get one drip coffee, but is better for people who spend $5.20 or more, iirc, per visit.

This happens when people take advantage of the current system. They would make me charge a penny on their gold card and pay for things individually.
>>
>>7408441

their previous reward system was too good and i felt like a scumbag for free rewards when i just get an americano or two every morning.

it grouped everyone using the app with the moms who spend their entire day trying to game the system
>>
no idea. i dont really make a habit of hanging out at starbucks. know what i mean?

Hey faggots,

I want to make myself a sous vide ribeye steak. Unfortunately, I don't have any appropriate plastic bags and it's 9:30PM where I live, so I can't go get one either.

Can I use this container instead or is it bullshit?

Thanks Louis /CK/s

stick it up your ass
>>
>>7407807
You need a bag with the air removed so the water can completely surround the meat. A plastic container like that won't work.
>>
you could probably get away with using a ziplock bag

but just grill your fukken steak like normal and deal with it i guess haha

Okay I guess my last thread was too racist for the janitors so let's just have a general hot sauce thread.

My roommate brought home a bottle of sriracha with tobasco last week and it's not too bad. I use it in pasta sauce.

1 lb meat
1.5 lb chinese noodles
2 tsp sesame seeds

cook meat and boil noodles

serve meat on noodles. garnish with sesame seeds
>>
>>7408335
nice, which kind of meat would be the best ? also what kind of seasoning should i use ? normal oil or something else to cook the meat ?
>>
I've never seen actual sesame used with fried noodles, it's usually just sesame oil.
I like char siu as a meat but lap cheong can be nice occasionally.
Have you tried chow fun before? It's pretty good and is usually just beef, hor fun, bean shoots and soy sauce. If you're frying it always make sure that the noodles are slightly cooked before.
