Greasy noodle thread
Why are they so good?
Why do they not serve it in traditional chinese grease style boxes anymore like in rushhour the movie starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker?
Why are there no greasy noodle specific carts around major cities like hot dog carts?
Why?
Pic is what i am eating now. On the right is spicy, sodium laced soy sauce flavour on the right. Please do not talk about health and bullshit.
Triggered fatty?
The greasy noodle carts by where I work serve it in those containers. It's a moderately large city.
>>7411559
I don't understand......i'm not fat and I am not upset? Why would i be "triggered" they dont sell greasy noodles in rush hour style boxes? I just want to know why? Those boxes are classic.
how do you cook filet mignon? i have never cooked a steak before in my life.
>>7411469
Put it under your pillow overnight, the slow warmth from your head is the best way to cook a good steak.
>>7411469
Salt.
Pepper.
Dash of olive oil
Turn the heat
Up to high
Sear it, beautiful crust
Add a dash
Of olive oil
Simple
Rustic
Let it rest
Seasoned beautifully
I know it sounds weird but I find that the microwave gives me the most desirable results
wrap in foil or paper to retain moisture
Alright niggers, I'm new to this shit, and I have a cooking question. I went to the store last night and got a bag of frozen chicken breasts, frozen broccoli, and brown rice. How the fuck do I cook this shit? My diet has basically been fast food since I was small, so I am painfully ignorant when it comes to cooking. I can boil water and make shitty instant trash and that's about it. What's a simple beginner recipe that doesn't take much time?
Also I assume I probably need seasonings and shit, any recommendations? I'm gonna go back to the store and get that kind of stuff in a bit. Thanks nigs.
I was redirected from /fit/ btw.
Look up some recipes.
Pick one that sounds good.
Get ingredients.
Follow recipe.
Eat food.
Please tell /fit/ to stop sending you fuckers here. They know perfectly well how to cook chicken breast, brown rice and broccoli.
>>7411413
Start with the chicken, and start simple. Put it into the fridge until it's thawed (soft all the way through). Get a baking sheet. Put the oven on whatever, 350-380. Put tinfoil on the baking sheet for easy cleanup. Put breasts on the sheet. Put salt, pepper, and garlic on the chicken. Bake for 40 minutes. Check the inside, make sure it's white throughout. It'll taste better because you did it yourself.
Can I still use these to make tahini?
>>7411386
As long as they haven't gone rancid, sure.
>>7411386
Expired how long ago?
What is the exact wording on the package?
Best before, use before, expires on...?
Best before: 9/2013
I tasted some and they taste okay, nothing terribly bad, just like seeds. I kept them refrigerated the whole time, if that changes anything.
currently smashed on Grande Absente while the potential for tornadoes around me get ever higher.
tell me /ck/, what is your go to spirit of choice for when the world is going to hell around you?

You are a female, you need to watch what you eat and stay attractive and thin for your husband, i think he deserves better than a fat sow.
>>7411354
i suggest you eat a salad. you're big enough as it is desu
Bought some alligator meat on a whim today, what can I do with this stuff?
>>7411345
>pineapple teriyaki over rice (cilantro and lime juice)
>grind it up and make it into Italian sausage (you'll have to add some fat)
>make the sausage into meatballs with habanero cheese cube in the center
>cook in homemade sauce (or use prego)
>serve over linguini with toasted parmesan garlic bread
>soak in buttermilk over night
>double bread in fried chicken style breading (I'd go heavy on the chipotle/cayenne/white/black pepper)
>serve with mashed rosemary mashed potatoes and gravy
>jalapeno corn bread
>look up recipie for Cajun blackened catfish
>use on alligator
>serve with fried zucchini and pan browned red potatoes
>>7411345
Eat it.

Looks like some fucker already chewed it to bits.
What does /ck/ think of avacados? What do they go well with? Any good recipes that have avacados?
Pic semi-related
>>7411260
Not his guac, that's for sure.
Idk, other guac I usually just put them on sandwiches or even hotdogs, avocado goes surprisingly well on top of a high quality hotdog and nice toasted bun.
Guac obviously. But not jeb's. His "secret recipe" sucks. Doesn't even use lime. Thank God he won't be president.
But really I like em on salad
Or with a hard boiled egg as a snack with salt and pepper
Or just plain with salt and pepper.
Add to a chicken or turkey sandwich.
>>7411260
One of my favorite foods.
Split an avocado open and eat it with a spoon.
If heat is supposed to make solids melt, than why do baked goods become solid when exposed to heat?
>>7411191
Because you haven't applied enough heat to melt the solids. Gb2 middle school physics.
>>7411191
1) not all solids melt, they can go directly from solid to burnt.
2) Baked goods set for a combination of reasons, depending on the exact dish:
-water gets cooked off (evaporates)
-protein in things like egg and wheat gluten (etc) set when they get heated to a certain temperature.
>>7411191
Eggs. And alternative proteins if you're baking with no eggs. The heat sets them.

Do you guys know anyone with strange or bland favorite foods?
One of my best friends' absolute favorite food is fried rice. Ever since we were kids, it has always been his favorite meal. His mom would make huge woks of it for us when I'd come over because he loved it so much. Never met anyone who liked fried rice as much as he did. He wasn't even Asian or fat.
don't really see why that's strange or bland
>>7410702
I don't know of many people who eat fried rice by itself. They usually have it along with some sort of main dish like chicken or fish.
>>7410703
No they don't. Maybe that's a white people thing, but fried rice is usually eaten by itself. It is the main dish.
Left my deep freezer unplugged for about 4 days
Its still cold on the inside but there is a bad smell. None of the meat looks bad or spoiled. How fucked am I?
Potentially fucked. Depends on the temp of the air surrounding it and if it was ever opened during the period when it was turned off. I imagine the meats would stay cold and refrigerate each other for a day or so, but 4 days might be too much. I would just check everything in there to be safe. Also, did you notice any water? If you did then you're pretty fucked.

>Left my deep freezer unplugged for about 4 days
how?
What kind of cheese is in this sauce?
>>7410271
From what the website says about using enzymes to process their cheese it probably isn't any type that is classified. It may be similar to a farmers cheese or mozzarella flavored cheese without the stringy-ness.
either way its a very mild cheese to not overpower the red sauce.
Also, I do know that the sauce can be recreated. Me and my ex-gf went to Chicago. All the best resteraunts were closed so we went to this random diner. Upon entering it looked like it still had its original decor from 1965. Only people over 65 years old seemed to be there. We ordered some pasta dishes. I fucking kid you not, the sauce had the exact consistency and taste of boyardee. It was so surreal.
>>7411617
Which diner was it?
>>7411617
>a very mild cheese to not overpower the red sauce.
w-wha
it's bottom-tier cheddar, aka "fake parmesan", cultured for maximum stink so they can use less.
a very un-mild cheese that completely overpowers any other flavor present.
hence the tangy, vomit-like taste.
How does /ck/ rate Basa fish fillets? In Australia they're dirt cheap and imported from vietnam. They're fish farmed and I've done some googling and they seem to be pretty healthy and not contaminated. Apparently they're basically the same as catfish farmed in the USA only tastier and a lot cheaper.
I've been making laksa with them, baking them in the oven with greek seasonings and garnishes and generally just been eating a bunch of fish lately.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
