Never had the one on the right, but it cannot possibly be worse than Maruchan, and Top Ramen is only marginally better, so I'm going to assume Ichiban.

Of those three specifically or in general? If specifically those three only, I've only had Top and Maruchan. Maruchan is better, but not by a whole lot and not like either is particularly good, though they're fine for the cost, I guess.

Southern Louisiana. I've exploited Tony Chacheres seasoning to its limit, but seafood like crawfish does well. Savory stuffed breads with Meat and cheese do well for a lunch crowd.

When I was living in Baton Rouge I'd always head over to the local market and grab some lemon catfish and rice dressing, plus maybe a kolache but it was always an afterthought. The savory stuff kept me going back there instead of ever shopping at walmart or whole foods, and every time I'd walk towards the bakery I'd immediately see the meat section and wander over there instead.

I'd stick to the lunch crowd - maybe make some crawfish bites or boudin balls?

Keep the "wet" components away from the dry components and assemble it when you eat it. Also keep it cool.

The other sensible option is some form of salad; leaves, some veg and something like some chicken or tuna to add protein.

I usually have a hearty breakfast and go the working day without eating. I do manual labor (not intensive), and it works out fine.

I used to just bring a few raw vegetables and maybe a bread roll or something to tide me over, but I find I don't need it anymore.

I usually make a batch of soup or chilli and bring a thermos, that with an apple or banana, protein bar, and rice crackers or figs.

It's a lot, but I have a manual labor job.

Anyone got good soup/stew recipes that I can bring in my thermos?
