stout followed by creme de menthe
This.
>>7446449
I didn't realize breakfast stout was a limited release beer and now that I'm hooked on it my liquor store is of course out of it. Feels bad man
why are udon noodles so disgusting?
>>7446256
because you don't know how to cook noodles that doesn't come with a soup/cheese packet
>>7446256
They aren't disgusting, they're just very thick and aren't great in a lot of dishes.
They're great when you've finished up your sukiyaki and then crack some eggs in and use the left over soup as a sauce
>>7446256
They're not. Fuck off.
What ingredient could I use to make a drink taste metallic? Say, if I was making a blood substitute.
Add iron, obviously.
>>7446136
I dunno how well it would dissolve. Can you even buy food grade powdered iron?
>>7446131
I marinate pennies overnight to get that beautiful taste in my drinks.
Bout 3 dollars worth should do it.

So I had my first job interview in like 5 years today, At burger king Is it a bad sign they didnt offer me the job right there? Or is it normal for them to call you and offer it to you in a week or so?
Also another food place i applied to just called me to schedule an interview today but i want the other job more should i go to this interview too or wait for the other job to call back?
>>7445662
It is very uncommon to be offered the job on the spot anon. Chances are they are speaking with other candidates. I would recommend you go on as many job interviews as possible considering you are currently unemployed.
>>7445662
Your life is pathetic.
>>7445681
I got hired on the spot at previous jobs which is why i dont know what id say if the other job offers me one while waiting for the one today
I know nothing about whisky but I wanna give a bottle as a gift to some people i know. Does age matter? I've seen some really old bottles (like 25 years) that were around $100, should i go for something like that or is it a rip off? Any recommendations useful. Thanks!
Yes, it does matter. It really depends on the tastes of the person you're buying for, though. If they've only had Jack Daniel's and Jameson, the $100 bottle is going to be a ripoff. Or if they're a person who only drinks scotch and you buy them an expensive bourbon, that's going to be a waste.
When I was a kid, there was a guy in the community who helped me a lot on a boy scout project I was working on. My mom heard he liked whisky, so she bought me a bottle to give to him as thanks. I gave it to him and he told me thank you but didn't seem particularly enthused. I know why, now. It was a bottle of Johnnie Walker red. Moral of the story is don't buy them a bottle unless you know their taste and have someone you trust advise you on your purchase.

>trusting your mom to buy liquor
Well i know they drink makers mark daily but they also had like an almost finished bottle of glenlivet in the booze cabinet
Let's post some actually good /ck/-related Youtube channels.
I'll start with three I like. Please recommend me your favorites in the thread!
Chef Michel Dumas is a French Canadian chef cooking mostly classical french cuisine. Entertaining even for someone who doesn't speak french.
Example - Duck confit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlNMGJzQ33g
Sorted food is mostly desserts but they do put out quite an impressive amount of videos.
Example - prawn and fried rice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7qVFNgJ-oo
Obligatory Food Wishes mention. No exposition required.
Example - spring lamp sliders: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2-qHwgz_Oc

What are my chances of getting legitimate food poisoning from a burger such as pic related? I've recently gotten into rare burgers. It has been 3 days since eating it and I feel fine so far. Am I in the clear? Has a rare burger ever given you any problems?
>>7445476
If you're feeling good three days later you're most likely in the clear.
as long as the burger reaches a certain temp before you eat it to kill all the bad shit you can eat it as rare as you want.
there will always be an element of risk, but it's usually worth taking if you're educated and want to eat something to your tastes.
Incredibly unlikely, provided the meat was decent quality and freshly ground.
>>7445476
Food poisoning usually hits you pretty fast anon, like I'm talking the same night/next morning.
You're good.
So I heard that that /ck/ Challenge is supposed to be starting up this month and would follow the same schedule as last year, but it's already past the first week of March.
Is there a confirmed start date yet? If not what's the current situation cause I want to compete and donate some small prizes this year.

So what's the deal with not washing these things.
I haven't washed mine in weeks, I keep cooking meat over and over in the same oils and it taste good but am I going to die from this or some shit?
I wash mine after each use.
You took that too literally man.
You are not supposed to wash it with soap because it will rust when its raw iron, but after you cook it builds up a patina or a seasoning that protects it.
Go scrub that pan out back to the metal and clean it really good and then after you dry it all you have to do is coat it with oil and rub it with a paper towel.
Hi all,
Does anyone have any good ideas for food that I can make the night before for a potluck?
Preferably something that is still good cold / warmed in a microwave (no oven available, this is happening at work).
Thanks
>>7445321
Chili dip. Whether you make it out of high quality ingredients or canned chili/Velveeta is up to you. Either way, it reheats fine in the microwave. Everyone loves spicy cheesy dip with tortilla chips.

Hummus and pita chips

Could you bring yourself to eat bugs if scientists discovered that a bug-based diet could allow you to live to be 150?
I know the idea of eating bugs is seen as disgusting in western society and I, myself, would vomit if offered a bowl of insects, but I totally wouldn't be surprised if they were nutritious for us to eat.
I've tried mealworms, crickets, ants and grasshoppers and liked none of them.
A local supermarket sells bugs. I'm not sure if I've ever seen anyone actually by any, though. I think I remember a guy getting some, but it could be a false memory.
I would eat bugs if they are cheaper than conventional meat per lbs of protein.
I'm not sure I'd want to survive to be 150 under any circumstances unless I could also remain mentally sharp and physically strong... but if was a matter of survival I'd learn to eat and enjoy insects - until then I have no interest in overcoming my revulsion to the idea.
If i kill a deer with my car how fast should i start cutting it up until it becomes rotten/poisonous?
Are there articles which can show me how to cut up a deer into pieces?
